ESEA finals viewer's guide

ESEA has now published full schedule for their CS 1.6 and CS:GO tournaments at the Season 12 finals in Dallas, TX this weekend, and here is our viewer's guide for the event.

ESEA Season 12 finals will offer over $36,000 in prizes for Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, with just seven teams in total competing in the two tournaments. Exact prize distribution is listed in our earlier post.

In CS:GO, DreamHack attendees Team Curse were forced to withdraw as one of their starters broke his wrist, while We are GO Players and FrostGaming ran into other emergencies and were unable to attend.

semphis & co defend their throne in North America

In CS 1.6, Derek "dboorN" Boorn's A Group Of Good Friends and last season's fourth place finishers Amazing Online were unable to attend, which means four teams will participate in the tournament.

Both tournaments will be ran in a double elimination best-of-three bracket. HLTV will be available for every CS 1.6 match with IPs shown here, while CS:GO will not feature GOTV due to issues in the new patch. Every match will however be streamed and you can find the links on our front page.

@csgo_dev. They don't respond to everything but sometimes they do and maybe if they know that these issues are going to ruin an event they even advertised in their blog, then they'll do a hotfix of whatever these GOTV issues are. After all, they are a company that depends on the smooth operation of their products.

One of their starters, emong, broke his wrist, and ESEA has some weird rules about roster locks and such so they can't attend.

Correct. That is why, Due to many players participating in the finals for more than one (game), this season's finals will not feature the traditional double elimination system, but instead a single elimination best-of-three bracket to avoid scheduling issues. hltv.org/news/9528-esea-season-12-finals..

If I remember correctly GOTV was affected by the latest patch. Not sure if that makes 'Hot Matches' possible.
