WRTT react to THOR disqualification

WRTT have issued a statement in which they explain their side of the story regarding the team's disqualification from the sixth qualifier for THOR Open.

The Swedish team were earlier on Sunday disqualified from the tournament after questions were raised about the manner in which they had defeated ESC Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Both the Polish giants and NiP reported their suspicions that WRTT had cheated to the tournament admins, who saw nothing wrong upon reviewing the demos.

However, Jesper "jw" Wecksell opened a .txt file which appeared to to be an order confirmation of a cheating software while streaming through twitch.tv, prompting the admins to make this decision.

In this statement, issued by Joel "emilio" Mako to HLTV.org on behalf of WRTT, the Swedish team accuse NiP and ESC Gaming of getting preferential treatment from the tournament admins and stress that the .txt file opened by Wecksell was nothing more than "a joke".

"It all started with the ESC game, we cannot say that much about the game, they practiced with Molotovs (which are not allowed in THOR Open) and had never played de_mill_b1 together before.

So those who saw the game know that we won it 16-0, and in my opinion it felt like a gather game, with some close rounds that turned in our favor.

However, during the game they whined, accusing us of cheating. At first, I thought it was a joke, since pasha was joking about it.

But when we realised they were serious, we had, of course, to upload our demos. In the rules, it says MAXIMUM two demos, but since we all know ESC are above the law, they got all five demos. The admin said that the demos were correct, and we advanced to face NiP in the semi-finals.

Before the match against NiP, we were really confident and felt we could be a threat for them. We had a 5-0 lead, I believe, and at the time, I think I can speak for us all five when I say that it really felt we had a chance in this game.

After a lot of rounds that were really close, we kept the lead, and with the chemistry we had yesterday, our confidence after each round won was just getting bigger, so in the end, we won 16-11.

After the game, I asked "Fifflaren" politely on IRC if they needed any demos, but I got no reply.

A couple of minutes later, the admin himself wrote to me, and demanded that we uploaded all demos, and when I say all I mean also those against ESC (again).

It is worth mentioning that NiP and Thor have a collaboration, and since Fragbite hosts the qualifiers, we felt we were discriminated against, since NiP were allowed to participate in the tournament even though they have a collaboration with Thor.

What I mean with is is that no one is allowed to participate in the THOR Qualifiers if they have something to do with Thor.

We thought there was no problem and uploaded all the demos we had. When the admin got them, he said that it was too much for him to handle at the time, so he needed some time to make a decision, thus postponing the final against VeryGames.

We respected that, of course, so we had to wait until today for the answer from the admin, who said that after watching all the demos, he could not find any cheat or anything suspicious.

With that said, we thought, of course, that we had qualified for the final against VeryGames. But then the admin found a .txt on JW's stream that was something like an "Organner receipt". So because JW had a .txt document on his computer, we got disqualified.

That .txt was an old joke, and not even the real receipt, just look at this screenshoot and you will know what I mean :)

As you can see, that really does not prove ANYTHING that jw cheated.

We did not have any chance to complain about sozu's decision or even to explain the .TXT, and when we tried, we got no reply.

With that said, you might understand that we got discriminiated against really badly, and down below you can find some screens that show they made us look BAD in the media.

1. Everyone claims that no anti-cheating software was available against NiP, but that was not the case. We wanted EAC, but NiP could not play with EAC, and now we get the BLAME for it????? (SCREEN BELOW)
