Lemondogs win THOR Open qualifier
Lemondogs have become the seventh team to secure a spot at THOR Open after winning Saturday's qualifier over Hawks.
Almost 60 teams from all over Europe signed up for the eighth and last qualifier for THOR Open with hopes of earning themselves a spot in the Swedish tournament, which will take place next weekend in Stockholm.
The participants' list for the qualifier was practically empty of top teams, but in the decisive match there were two sides who had been on show at DreamHack Winter last week, although Hawks were without Jonas "ScurK" Finnilä.
In the end, Lemondogs came out on top with a 16-12 scoreline on de_train_se after going into half-time up 14-1 following an impressive display on the CT side during the first half.
The seventh THOR Open qualifier will resume on Monday with the quarter-final match between Hawks and CPLAY. Lemondogs had already reached the Grand Final of this qualifier, but after having qualified today, the last spot will come down to Hawks, CPLAY and SMBU.
Lemondogs, who were previously known as BuggIT, have the following line-up:
Patrik "zajp" Knutsen
André "berg" Kjellberg
Simon "twist" Eliasson
Christian "Spitfire" Schiölde
Isak "cype" Rydman
