aLegends, 3DMAX march on

The first group phase of NorthCon 2012 has come to an end, with Absolute Legends and 3DMAX qualifying for the next stage of the tournament.

Despite attending the event with a stand-in, Andreas "schneider" Lindberg, Absolute Legends had no trouble to come out on top of their group, and in fact it was the Western Wolves ace to inspire the team to turn in commanding displays in Friday's games.

The Swedish team started out with a 16-5 victory over fm-eSports TOXiC and went on to beat NeverPlay and AT-Gaming 16-2 and 16-5, respectively.

In the other group, 3DMAX saw off fellow countrymen EYES ON U 16-5 before defeating German duo ServerForge (16-11) and gamed!de (16-5).

The teams who placed second and third in the groups will play the relegation stage at 10:00 for the chance to enter the second group stage, which is scheduled to start at 11:00 .
