NLAN 2013 with $7,800 for CS:GO

NLAN 2013 has been announced to take place in the beginning of April in Norrköping, Sweden and will feature a 50,000 SEK (~$7,800) CS:GO tournament.

The event will run on April 2-5, Tuesday through Friday, and feature a 1,200 seat BYOC at Borgen Norrköping, with tickets costing 200 SEK (~$32) each to grant access to a seat in the event.

Eight of the tournament's sixteen teams will be determined through invitations, with Absolute Legends and Lemondogs having accepted them and the organizers not having received a response from NiP or fnatic yet.

pronax's Absolute Legends plan to attend NLAN 2013

Four teams will be determined through online qualifications, through which Epsilon and MOV3MBER have so far qualified, with the third qualifier taking place on February 8.

Finally, four teams will be found via a on-site BYOC qualifier on the first day, suggesting the actual tournament will likely only run on April 3-4, thus making it easier for teams to take part.

Following five teams have so far been confirmed:

Sweden Lemondogs Sweden Absolute Legends
Sweden Epsilon Finland MOV3MBER
Sweden Neverlan

NLAN 2013 will feature a tournament area with 40 computers provided by the organizers, so the main tournament will not be played in the BYOC area. The total prize purse of 50,000 SEK will be divided among the top three finishers as follows:

1. 30,000 SEK (~$4,680)
2. 15,000 SEK (~$2,340)
3. 5,000 SEK (~$780)

HLTV.org will keep you updated with more information regarding NLAN 2013 as more teams qualify or accept invitations to participate in the tournament.

as if you took my bait. herpderp. (my comment was to provoke all these dribblers to say "no there is 10k 1.6 lan noob" so that maybe they could notice by themselves that most local CS:GO lans have as much prize money than the remaining 1.6 lans) derp

If you would like a better perspective, let's wait 13 years into the future, and then say "isn't that [a csgo tourney 13 years later] prize money bigger than any 1.6 tournament this year?" I doubt csgo will survive 13 years later to have a prize pool. Its obvious new games will have that 'sprint like adrenaline rush' in tournies and prize-money, but it'll fade like every other fps after 2 to 3 years.

HLTV has misunderstood the event, there is a byoc tournament for people who bring their own computer since it is a LAN FESTIVAL. There will be access to computers for invited/qualified teams. (Similar to the Thor Open setup)

Afaik the cs:go tournament should've been non-byoc? --edit-- just got confirmation it is non-byoc in the main tournament although it says "NLAN 2013 has been announced to take place in the beginning of April in Norrköping, Sweden and will feature a 50,000 SEK (~$7,800) BYOC CS:GO tournament." in the news.

not really misunderstood as much as posted what it says on their website (and fragbite post for that matter). if their site says it's a byoc lan with no mention of provided computers, all we can do is assume it's a byoc lan. if someone associated with the lan can contact us to clear it, we'll be happy to update the news.

I actually sent you a message about it, just now. To make it even easier, think of the Dreamhack setup. There will be a BYOC tournament, to give unknown teams a chance to get into the main tournament. Computers will be provided to the invited/qualified teams.

The information is kind of misleading people. When you're in the "Main Tournament" you won't have to bring your own computer. We'll have computers up and running for the main tournament. You will only have to bring your own computer if you're playing the byoc.
