Cph Games prize breakdown unveiled

The organisers behind Copenhagen Games have announced how the prize distribution of the male CS:GO tournament will be made.

The Danish event will run from March 27th to 31st at Øksnehallen, an exhibition centre in the heart of Copenhagen, with a whopping €33,000 up for grabs in the male CS:GO tournament.

This is the second-highest prize purse in the history of the game, falling behind only that of DreamHack Winter 2012, which handed out 300,000 SEK (approximately €35,000).

It has now been revealed that the winner of the tournament will walk away with €16,500, while the losing finalist will have to settle for €8,000. The third-placed side will receive a cheque for €4,000.

Cph Games prize distribution:

1. €16,500
2. €8,000
3. €4,000
4. €2,000
5-6. €750
5-6. €750
7-8. €500
7-8. €500

More info about Cph Games, such as the schedule, format and the prize distribution for the €7,000 female tournament, should be released soon, so stay tuned to HLTV.org for all information about the Danish event.

8.000 EURO for ESC it's also a nice price ;) They're not on NiP's level yet, but who knows what the future will bring ;)

Actually the dumbest thing ive ever heard. Ok, they are favorites as i stands now, but i think it will be more balanced with time. NiP started playing the game before everyone else did, and thats the main reason for their early success. My prediction would be teams like ESC, ex-mTw and some of the other scandinavian teams to actually give them a real fight to the very end. I atleast hope so! But againt, that is just my thoughts. On the other hand we got tha NaVIIIIIfanzz x)

And whats the deal with that? cs:O will never be a global thing. The Asian scene is pretty sick to be honest, and they have the talent to put in some great results in GO. Just wrong direction to go.

well they know that cs:GO is the new competitive game after 1.6 but they still keep playing lot of events with cs:O, and also there is no Asian team from the 1.6 squad or ONLINE squad switching to cs:GO if i'm not mistaken, because they already got many Asian FPS games just like cs:GO in terms of graphics (CrossFire - Glorious mission - combat arms - sudden attack) !!

Literally when he joined ESL, he had a couple of events just after he did. I could be wrong, but I'd like to see him cast CPH Games, because last years CSS tournament was so much better with him casting it.

Nice, nice, but will be there prizes like time ago? I mean, 40K€, 60K€, 35K€,,, cs prizes right now are really low :( Most tournaments have like 10 or 15K€ pool prizes, some years ago those tournaments weren't even played by top teams, sadness :( I want better live for players! Give cash sponsors!!

there were many with 30K+ or 40K, this one is not that bad, but there were/are a lot of them with something like 10K€ tournaments, which is sad, I mean sad for the counter strike, caouse it means there is no too many sponsors or don't want to put money in this game

16.500 for the first place is far too much considering NiP won everything till now. max 12k would be enough.

agree...16500 is way too much for the 1st posi....the 5th,6th and 7th position should get more money as it will inspire more teams to participate and motivate them to atleast grab a top 7 finish

"The Danish event will run from March 27th to 31st ". If Heaven Media would be amongst the organizers, you'll have to free your agenda between 2 and 9 of april to see the matches after the delay. also, there is a big chance that GOTV wont work or it will be password protected.
