Epsilon win RaidCall EMS One Cup #1

At the start of the new ESL Major Series season, Swedish team Epsilon has won the first cup by beating NiP's executioners n!faculty in the final 2-0 (16-12 on de_train_se & 16-5 on de_mirage_csgo).

The Spring 2013 season that will hand out $39,000 in prize money started with the RaidCall EMS One Cup #1, hosting 24 teams including the likes of NiP, ESC Gaming, Imaginary Gaming and Absolute Legends.

It began yesterday with the first three rounds of best-of-one action, when we already witnessed some upsets. In the first round Absolute Legends were knocked out by German side dotpiXels, while the second round saw ESC exit after a 16-11 loss to k1ck. Slovakian-Czech team 3DMAX also lost in the second round to Germans DRUCKWELLE in a tight 16-14 clash.

In the end, it was NiP, n!faculty, Imaginary Gaming and Epsilon that lived to see the next day by reaching the semi-finals.

As the action started today, we saw one of the biggest upsets in recent times as n!faculty defeated the Swedish giants and reigning EMS champions NiP with a 16-12 scoreline on de_mirage_csgo.

disruptor's n!faculty upset NiP in the semi-final, but then lost to Epsilon

In the other semi-final Epsilon, who reached this stage after a double overtime match against DRUCKWELLE, made light work of their clash against last season's runners-up Imaginary, winning 16-5 on de_inferno_se.

The unexpected final match-up began on de_train_se where n!faculty were unable to continue their strong play and Epsilon came out victorious 16-12. The match moved on to the map on which the Germans beat NiP earlier, de_mirage_csgo, but they were run over by the controversial young Swedish squad who clinched the cup with a 16-5 win.

 Epsilon K - D +/- ADR KAST Rating1.0

38 - 29 +9 - - 1.24
39 - 25 +14 - - 1.21

32 - 25 +7 - - 1.10

 n!faculty K - D +/- ADR KAST Rating1.0

34 - 38 -4 - - 0.90

15 - 42 -27 - - 0.37

After the tournament, ESL took a statement from the winners' captain Tonoy "Lox" Prince who had the following to say:

"It was a really good tournament for us, we need all the practice we can get before the LAN-events coming up. Great matches against the top elite of Europe.

"The early stages of the tournament were difficult for us, with some surprising teams playing very well (knocking out 3DMAX in the process), their strats were clean and they gave us quite a scare! And today we were really hyped to meet NiP in the finals but they lost against n!faculty on the earlier round. The match started and we felt that we had a good roll from the beginning and we just went with that and felt like we had this one in our bag.

"After the first map (train), we were worried because they had just beat NIP 16-12 on mirage, but after a strong CT-side, the confidence grew and we closed the first match. Then we started on the second map on mirage and lost the knife round which lead us to start T. We won the pistol round and in the end we managed to close the last map with 16-5 in our advantage.

"Great tournament guys, and I want to take the opportunity to thank our sponsors (Nike, Razer, PlayZ, Hiperz, Multiplay) by believing in us and sending us to the next lans which is Swedish Masters, Copenhagen Games, and NLAN. Thanks, see you soon!"

Epsilon will receive $600 for their efforts, while they also secured 100 points in the overall ranking. There will be three more cups like this one where teams will gather points, after which the best placed 16 will enter the group stage of the competition. That means that the likes of NiP and ESC still have enough time to secure their place for the next stage.

Stay tuned to HLTV.org as we will provide complete coverage of RaidCall EMS One throughout the season.

They got disqualified, because one of the players made a false .txt file as a joke, and it was proven that it was false on a youtube video, comparing his .txt file with the ones from Organner.

what i wanted to say was that placing 4th in cs:go doesnt mean youre really good, cuz so far vg and nip were far ahead from others so even if you are 4th usually dont stand a chance against them, so i wouldnt call them impressive. i agree that soon nip and vg will fall on lan which is great. i know that n! won against nip and vg but they are still loosing many times vs mid teams so theyre too random

So tell me who have been banned for cheating in 1.6? Schneider never got banned for his bust movie, so who got banned? They've won vs good teams @ lan in 1.6, they are good, stop judging before proofs. And I'm not saying they're clean, but we need proofs first.

"They where cheating in 1.6" The only player in Epsilon that has been caught cheating is schneider. Schneider wasn´t a bad 1.6 player. But for some reason he bought organner and played with it in the end of 1.6. After that dispute schneider went to Nordic Masters and "proved" himself by winning against Lions. I can´t guarantee that none of the others hasn´t been cheating but they have never been busted/banned for cheating. All of these players have proven themselves at LAN. Except the incident when we got disqualified from the Swedish Championship. But I don´t think you can call Lox a cheater because of a small dot on the screen xD. All though it was really wrong of him. hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=11370&ref=d.. hltv.org/?pageid=28&&offset=0&search=1&t.. I hope they can handle the presure and perform at this level at LAN, I highly doubt it but it´s not impossible. Gj Epsilon =P

Nah, I don't think they cheat. I wasn't trying to give my perspective on the situation(a bit though). I just gave some information that's good to know, because I think many people prejudge them. =)

Epsilon is actually a good team, great individual players...Their only downfall though is their shitty and imature attitude..I really hope they can perform on LAN, cause as we all know, online matches means nothing.

While 95% of the teams keep changing players n!faculty is practicing for months together. Not like it's an advantage to stay together for a long time. "NaVi" "ESC" "NiP for over a year now". VeryGames is struggling with a new player.

It's funny how ppl defend them, they are accused of cheating on multiple games, not by randomers but by top teams and one of their player was busted on his stream. rofl. Cheater once, cheater forever.

Its actually funny how your completely wrong. they won every lan to be exact ;) BF3 team never lost a single event, and even took the liberty to win Brink Gamescom, and then Firefall Gamescom in between. They also did the exhibition match for Shootmania, at Gamescom 2012 where the best BF3 team met "the best" german cs team back then, who by the way n!faculty :) Epsilon won it quite easily ! Sorry for reminding bad memories:p youtube.com/watch?v=mT_O8J9EcNg
