There is nothing wrong with setting it too fps_max 0 as long as you don't go above 1000fps and your frametimes are consistent, if you experience fps stutters or var increases, then set it to something...

You need GPU Scaling for CS:GO, don't rely on your monitor to scale the image properly as it will look awful, AFAIK every single pro uses GPU scaling too
