Biography
CS is dying FAST, and it's different than 'CS IS DEAD' which people these years have been mentioning. Why?

1. New players replacing the old players? That's the logic for football, which has superb regeneration power, not 1.6 which has A LOT more players retiring than new players joining in.

2. Do u see new players on today's top teams? No.

3. Most of the kids today will play games with better graphics, not some old and unattractive (to them, don't blame me, blame the tendency of most people on earth who love sumthin which has a better look) 1.6.

4. Even if there r new kids joining 1.6, they can't really step into the 'professional level'. Remember there was a thread here about 'CS Marathon'. The OP asked about how intensive do u play 1.6. Most of the kids there replied about 1-2 hours a day, and most of them don't really play it everyday.

1-2 hours a day? Sorry, but if u just play 1.6 THAT intensive, u will never get 'the sixth sense' of the game like most of the top players today have. Just ask them, what were the sacrifices they'd been through in order to reach their level today. Look at f0rest, the arguably no. 1 aimer of the world. U know what, he sacrificed his high school so that even till today, he doesn't really have a high school certificate! And not just him, I believe most of them dedicated themselves highly to this game. By playing 1-2 hours a day, u'll never reach their level, even if u play for years.

Talent? Bullshit! Talent in 1.6 will only limit how far u will be when u've reached ur peak, but it won't make u 'pro' by a blink. CS is a deep game, and it needs a perfection in every aspects it has to reach a professional level, like:

-aim/recoil mastery (this is the fastest aspect people could master with talent); pre-fire timing mastery; W-A-S-D movement, timing, and bullet dodging (to move like NEO, u have to play INTENSIVELY for a long time, talent is bullshit for this aspect, cuz when u move in 1.6, u don't just move, there r a lot of functions and thoughts by doing a simple keyboard movement, and to use them instinctively on a perfect timing, u need 10000000000000000 hours of 1.6, not just talent like football; and these 3 aspects have to synchronize with each other cuz if u fail at even one of them, u'll never be a perfect 'aimer'
-map boundaries understanding and map rotation (most of these kids r caught and killed at the wrong place at the wrong time, and maybe they'll just copy the 'pros' positions and movements without exactly knowing the reasons behind every decisions; but if u r used to FPS games, this shouldn't be a problem)
-and the last but not least, predicting human psychology, or at least 1.6's human psychology: what would they do next; how every single movements u do affect their minds and their next moves; how every positions of u and ur teammates and the time left affect the opponent(s)'s decisions; how each nades and flashes thrown r used for what purpose, maybe it's for delaying ur (and ur team) movements/strategies while executing theirs, or to anti-rush ur team so u can't aim/execute ur strategies well while entering a post/site, or to give u and ur team blind-spots so u can't guard ur posts/sites well when they r going to take over, or to flee, or to hide, or to be a decoy, or as a camouflage. This last aspect I've mentioned also needs loads of hours of 1.6.

And these professionals, they've mastered ALL of these aspects, and they execute them FAST and perfectly timed.

It's not easy to reach that level.

Sorry, but I doubt these new generation players. 1-2 hours a day? Nah. If it's StarCraft, the 'pros' would have 200 APM, while these new kids would only top 50 APM by having that level of dedication and sacrifice. If u want to be 'pro', 1.6 has to be #1 in ur priority, or at least it has to be the 80% share of ur brain, while the other 5% would be eating, 5% resting, and 10% fapping.

5. Do I really doubt that u could dedicate urselves higher than I've mentioned above? Yes, and yes, this is 2012, not some 2003, where the hype of Counter-Strike was G0DL1K3, where ALL kids would play for consecutive 10 hours everyday, where the kids would play for consecutive 24 hours without sleeping, where 100 PC LANs would be filled with no other game, but Counter-Strike, where kids would skip school for days just LAN each other, where some kids would even quit school just to dedicate themselves for their Counter-Strike career.

Now, for more example, if there r 100 kids at a school, there would only be 5 of them who play 1.6, while the rest 95 play some newest version of BF, CoD, SC, LoL, HoN, etc.

If u were one of those 5 kids, would u skip school to play 10 hours of 1.6? No. Would u stay 2 nights long to bootcamp to train with ur team? No. WOULD u quit school to dedicate urself fully for 1.6? NO.

No, u won't cuz u'll look like a complete idiot.

CONCLUSION:

Today, old school players r retiring rapidly. The 'new' players (or at least, the ones that those ignorant kids mentioned as 'new') u see on the professional scene today r not really new, as most of them started playing 1.6 since at least 2006/2007. And the literally new players, r very limited, like I've mentioned above. Moreover, the good quality new players r more limited.

Even if these new players make it/or r forced to join professional teams due to the lack of 1.6 players, they won't be as good as their seniors cuz their lack of dedications and sacrifices. They r just less thoughtful about the game.

Carn, lurppis, starix, and some others said that there's a big possibility that the next IEM won't include 1.6.

So, what can we do?

Sum1 has to take the initiative by showing this '35.000/42.000 spectators' thing to sponsors to attract them. If we r lucky, they might sponsor us to start new 1.6 cups/leagues.

OR

QUIT SCHOOL AND GO TOTAL FOR 1.6. FORCE AS MANY FRIENDS AS U CAN TO JOIN U TO QUIT SCHOOL. I'M SERIOUS, KIDS, THE CHOICE LIES ON U. EVERYTHING OR NOTHING. 1.6 DEAD OR ALIVE. POLAND OR UKRAINE. POLAND STRONG UKRAINE WRONG. TO BE A LOSER OR A WORLD CHAMPIONNNNNNNNNNNNN!
