Yes I was going to follow up that the cultural factor is probably the most important, but let me address your points one at a time: "Japanese players are not shining anywhere" - Technically fighting games are not esports, fine. But they absolutely DOMINATE all Street Fighter games. "Now take USA, you say your policies dont allow people to play games seriously." - I just said it gives us less opportunity to take them as seriously on average. But I agree there are counterexamples elsewhere in the world to this hypothesis. For example CIS isn't exactly a social democratic paradise, nor is China (though it's not terrible now), and this is why I think culture is the most important factor (however culture can ALSO be influenced by policy ultimately). Regarding your last paragraph - everything you said is anecdotal. You did not cite any actual % of Americans who take esports seriously vs. other countries (I'd bet money it's far lower). You're just pointing out some famous streamers who are probably born well off enough already to stream in the first place. I'll reiterate though about culture - US culture is more heavily focused on social status and "hitting it big" than any other nation I'm aware of, so the most "talented" people go on to play regular sports where they can potentially make a lot more money and become famous. Also you'll find a LOT of lost talent in the poorer areas of the country (the more African-American areas, if you will), but they simply don't have the means to play computer games (again possibly related to policy) like the upper-middle class whites and Asian-Americans in the country. So that leaves us with only this one demographic that generally participate in esports - upper-middle class kids that are born with silver spoons in their mouths. A lot of this demographic is spoiled, privileged and complacent, doesn't really know the discipline it takes to get good at something, and like I said earlier, this demographic includes "the trolls who don't really care about anything in life." Of course I'm generalizing here.
