€11,500 CS:GO tourney in Birmingham

Esports Heaven has announced that it will put together a CS:GO tournament with prizes amounting to £10,000 (approximately €11,500) in Birmingham in two months.

The tournament will be held under the wings of the Gadget Show Live, a major technology and consumer expo, inside Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre from April 5th to 7th.

It will be the third CS:GO tournament organised by Esports Heaven, after the AMD Sapphire CS:GO invitational in Prague in December and the Mad Catz CS:GO Invitational in Vienna, this weekend.

A total of 16 teams will be in action in this non-BYOC tournament, with the players required to pay an entry fee, whose amount has not yet been announced.

For those interested in attending the event as a visitor, there is a 15 per cent discount if you use the promotional code "ESH" while purchasing your ticket here.

There is a strong possibility that a number of Europe's top teams will not be able to attend the British event, though, as it will collide with the SLTV StarSeries finals, which will be held at Kiev's CyberSports ARENA from April 4th to 7th.

Stay tuned to HLTV.org as we will bring you all the info about Esports Heaven Birmingham.

The tickets and discount are simply for entrance to the Gadget Show Live as a spectator of the event. Teams and players who want to enter the tournament will have to pay an entrance fee which is as of yet undecided.

Hilarious that Richard Lewis gets the blame for stuff that isn't his fault, then gets credit for events he has nothing to do with

hope the registrations will be late, would be disapointing that all the starladder teams do not attend because they don't know if they will qualify or not.

Anexis might have a shot, since they are not participating in the SLTV StarSeries ladder.

Sounds cool, hilariously dumb though to set the same date with the Starseries finals. So basically you can count out NiP, VeryGames and two of them ESC/Virtus.Pro/n!faculty/fnatic some money for the others :-D

As I said on our website. The Gadget Show Live is the biggest technology expo in the UK and has pretty much every major tech company there as well as over 100,000 people visiting over the course of the weekend. We've organised the GameZone side of it for the past few years now and each event is planned many, many months in advance. This time round we thought it'd be cool to host a CS:GO tournament there and showcase it to the world. There is absolutely no way that they would be willing to budge on the dates in order to accommodate 4 teams for our tournament. It's simply bad luck that both have fallen at the same time but I'm sure both events will be pretty special.

Teams will be playing in front of 100.000 people so I think they fade out the city if it's really a shithole. (City's in UK are decent, except east London lolz)

he watched some games when i played there at 2009, but i think its more that it was a game, rather than cs in general. its a great event and will get a hell of alot of exposure, as the last 2 cs events got quite alot of interest when they held an invite event in 2008 and EPS in 2009
