Wizards release CS:GO team

Team Wizards have announced on their official website that they have parted company with their CS:GO division.

The Spanish organisation ventured into CS:GO in November when they picked up the the former bemyfRAG squad and enjoyed some mild success at the beginning of this partnership, as the team finished in 5th-8th place in ESL Major Series Winter 2012.

After that, the team underwent multiple roster changes, and despite adding more experienced players like Aitor "SOKER" Fernández and Kirian "Yaba" Martínez, they were a major letdown in the RaidCall EMS One cups, losing all four matches they played.

Still, they managed to qualify for the tournament's group stage as they were able to get 10 points from each cup due to the fact that their seeding allowed them to skip the first round.

But that did little in the way of pleasing Wizards, who have decided to part company with the team due to their lack of stability.

"Wizards decided to shut down their CS:GO division because we had to change our roster several times to make it fit our needs and also because of commitment issues," Fernández told HLTV.org.

"Now, with what we think is a solid and strong roster, we hope that an organisation will trust us so that we can prepare for the LAN events we want to attend, especially in the Summer, when we will all be more used to playing with each other.

"I would also like to say that we are practicing very intensively."

The Spanish team, who can be reached via e-mail at [email protected], have been drawn in Group A in EMS One, together with Ninjas in Pyjamas, Anexis and ALTERNATE.

Until a new organisation is found, the team will go under the name facefuck, with their lineup being the following:

Spain Aitor "SOKER" Fernández
Spain Adrian "JuShTo" Pulido
Spain Chema "Pinchos" Flores
Spain Christian "loWel" Garcia
Spain Francisco "hAder" Vázquez

they lost all matches, but they skipped the first round of every cup (because of previous EMS results), so they got 10 points every time.

Oh...thanks for clearing it up...i didn't know exactly...thats not a good system (in my opinion despite of previous EMS) because mainly NAVI or other good team could be there. You need to show or have done something to be picked up by any decent org.

Good previous performances have to pay off somehow and if Na'Vi or any other did not do their 'homework' I think they themselves are the ones to be blamed. It is similar to the seedings, you did what you had to do previously (group stage, cups etc.) and you get your 'prize' ('weaker' teams, byes etc.).

Please...winning 0 matches in 4 cups at an EMS says enough and its ridicolous. You are spanish anyways so there is no point in discussing about this. If at least they would HAVE WON a match i would just understand it (not serious but i would). They even won a single match and yes, they had "seed" since they never played first match so they came into the second match and lost everyone. If you please tell me that any "decent" org will take something like that you are not being serious. None will sponsor or offer you anything when you didn't show or proof anything.

If you start with stereotypes I can tell you it isn't the best way to start discussing with anyone on this site. As MIRAA has explained to you their points came from the byes not their nowadays performance. An unfortunate side effect concerning other teams but those points were 'gained' fairly as far as I know on the basis of previous EMS results. Of course this team, or any other, would love to win one, two etc. matches to advance in a competition or proof their organization that the money is well invested. But 'love' isn't actually what makes the difference as the other team(s) also have their own goals and 'love'. And if those teams are better than you, for one reason or another, you end up losing. But they did their homework as said and ended up favoured by it. I honestly can't speak for an org but, decent or not (up to the players), if it is willing to show its name during the group stage this team might get sponsored (in a more or less limited way). And the results will define if it is a short or long run relationship, as it most of the times does.

The new "team name" isn't quite a good start honestly. I hope they get an org just to see it change asap.

Maybe the local scene is too small. Internationally this team is below top50 so it's gonna be hard to find support
