NiP see off Virtus.pro to win TECHLABS

Ninjas in Pyjamas came out on top of TECHLABS 2013 in Moscow with a 16-10 victory over Virtus.pro in the Grand Final.

Having come from the Upper Bracket, NiP had the advantage of needing just one map to win the tournament, while Virtus.pro, who had defeated ESC Gaming in the Consolidation Final, required two maps to get their hands on the $8,000 cheque.

It was the Swedish team who came ou the brighter, winning the pistol round, but some sloppy play from them almost cost them the second round before Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund won the decisive 1-on-1.

After NiP made it 3-0, Virtus.pro finally started gaining some ground, inspired by Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov, who was showing all his AWPing skills. The home side also opted for some aggressive moves with early pushes in some rounds, which caught NiP's players by surprise and put the Russia-based team up 7-3.

The Swedes then finally managed to recover but they were still getting picked off early in the rounds. In the 12th round, NiP found themselves in a 2-on-4 situation, but still managed to come out on top, with Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg taking down three players after being left alone. The next round followed the same trend, but this time around it was Adam "friberg" Friberg to get three kills.

Fox picked up some impressive AWP frags during the final

NiP eventually managed to take the score to 8-7 in their favour, but they knew that things would not be easy for them as they would have to play on the CT side now. Alesund came out strongly in the pistol round, getting a triple kill which paved the way for his team to win the round.

After the second round also went NiP's way, Virtus.pro decided to buy, but their rush onto the A site from catwalk was stopped by Richard "Xizt" Landström and Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson.

NiP kept picking up round after round as Virtus.pro looked a bit off the pace after the break, and in the end the Swedish team ran out 16-10 victors to clinch the TECHLABS trophy.

Ever? that might be a bit of a stretch, though I've never paid much attention to source I think there is a few 1.6'ers who would have something to say there, Trace, Moddii, f0rest, GeT-RighT, Edward, Zet, Markeloff etc.

You did never point that out, you wrote ever, which you wouldn't really do for a game that is about 6 months old, thus the logical deduction would be that you're talking CS history, which I do believe you actually started out writing, though I can't remember.

It is not clear at all when you write "best aimer ever", you're clearly pointing to the history of cs, nothing else would make sense. What you meant in you're head doesn't really matter because that was not the way it came across.

Fifflaren might not the best AWPer in the world, but he doesn't deserve the shit he gets. He's often in the bottom of the scoreboard but not due to his lack of aim-skills. He often stays in the background and he's often the last guy standing due to positioning and that's pretty much the only reason for his low scores. He should pick up a rife more often.

I don't want to imagine NiP with an AWP like markeloff, kennyS or sgares. They'd be unstoppable for like forever. :) edit: So sad that AdreN has to play with such a bad ping online. He was beast throughout the whole tournament.

they are tactical they just execute fast and change the pace so teams can't use there flashes, or slow it down so teams use up all there flashes and can't defend a basic A take.. pritty much they run through the tactic so fast it doesnt loo like they work together when in fact fif smokes and xizt flashes them out.. they just get it done in the first 45 seconds of the round..

one question , there was this match on d2 where virtus pro just basically went beserk in every round against VG(?), ending up winning with an amazing performance. Is there any fragclip about this particular match ? As far as I recalled it there were some huge clutches and awp 3k's. Any response is highly appreciated.

I dont understand why people get provoked. It is obvious the 1.6 players are dominating and really hard at it too. But it is only natural as the skill gap was higher in 1.6 than any later versions. I hope some newschoolers or saucers skill up and learn how to play vs nip, so boring if only ESC or NAVI can challenge nip.
