Virtus.pro takes down NiP 2-0 at SLTV

Virtus.pro has handed NiP their first LAN defeat with a score of 2-0 (16-14 de_mirage_go, 16-10 de_nuke_se) in SLTV StarSeries V Finals' upper bracket final.

Virtus opened up de_nuke_se with a quick ramp hit as terrorists, taking down the NiP defense there and finalizing the round win with three kills from Emil "kucher" Akhundov on the lower site.

Up 3-0, Virtus got shut down on their first two attacks as they try to hit upper and then fake upper to hit ramp. Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg's two huge M4A4 kills outside then tie the game 3-3.

The Russians scored two kills on their save round outside, but weren't able to convert it. NiP then went up 5-3 thanks to a one-on-one win by Adam "friberg" Friberg against Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov in upper.

It was then the other Stolyarov brother who stepped up to the plate with a huge one-on-two clutch in the lower site, followed up by Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow's one-on-three in upper to tie the game at five.

Karasiow added another three kills outside versus saving Ninjas, but couldn't do much on the next round, as NiP tied the game again. Next round saw Friberg put in two huge kills after a well-timed peek in lower, and after Virtus' save the Russians were trailing 6-8.

Final round of the half went to Virtus, who kept themselves within one thanks to a one-on-one win by the older Stolyarov against Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson to make it 7-8.

Second half started with an amazing four kill round by Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov, who stopped NiP's ramp rush all by himself with his Dual Berettas, tying the game once again and forcing NiP to save.

The Swedes' third round buy didn't work as Virtus won a two-on-two, and the Russians quickly found themselves up 12-8. NiP then ran their outer strategy and picks across the board allowed them to win a round to make it 9-12.

This time Virtus.pro were able to come out on top 

In possibly the most important round of the match, Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov once again came up huge as he got a double kill in the lower bombsite while hiding in a corner to win a crucial two-on-two for his team.

Even he couldn't clutch a one-on-two next round though, as Richard "Xizt" Landström's AK47 took his head off in the lower site but just as it looked NiP might come back, the Russians took it all away.

NiP sent most of their players outside on an anti-eco round, and hiding Virtus players managed to take out four of NiP untouched, and Alesund wasn't able to convert the near impossible round, losing a save round.

The Swedes attempted a desperate ramp attack with some P250s but without success, and with five game points to go, Virtus wasted no time as they clinched a 16-10 win, 2-0 overall, to become the first team to defeat NiP on LAN in CS:GO.

NiP will go on to face Natus Vincere in the consolidation final tomorrow at 16:00 and the winner of that match will take on Virtus.pro in the grand final on Sunday at 16:00 .
