stavros returns to mousesports

mousesports have confirmed via their official website that they have signed Dimitrios "stavros" Smoilis from TCM-Gaming.

The move comes in the aftermath of the team's 7th-8th place finish at Copenhagen Games, where they were sent packing in the fifth round of the Lower Bracket courtesy of Western Wolves, who would go on to reach the tournament's final.

It was a good campaign from mousesports, who defeated teams like Anexis and ESC Gaming, but after returning home from the Danish capital they decided to up the ante and pick up a familiar face to the group.

Smoilis was part of mouz's original German CS:GO lineup, but left them in January to build a new team with Hendrik "strux1" Goetzendorff called /10/, who were later picked up by TCM-Gaming.

stavros makes mouz return

Under the banner of TCM, though, Smoilis achieved little success as the team finished in the top 8 at Mad Catz Vienna, prompting Anil "cLy" Gülec to go freelance after the event.

Smoilis has now decided to link up with his former team, stepping into the shoes of Michele "zonixx" Köhler, who has been shown the exit door by the management.

"First off, I would like to say it was not an easy decision becase I have spent my whole career playing alongside strux1," he told mouz's website.

"Nevertheless, I am glad that mousesports still had an interest in me, especially after their strong appearances in Copenhagen.

"I think that if we work hard we can achieve a lot. I am sure we will bring some international achievements in the future and that we will win some German events."

mousesports now have the following roster:

Denmark Finn "karrigan" Andersen
Germany Manuel "approx" Zeitz
Germany Tobias "Troubley" Tabbert
Germany Andre "nooky" Utesch
Greece Dimitrios "stavros" Smoilis

youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailp.. stavros and Troubley are best friends by the way.

fail^1000 The newt mousesports contains: - 2 German 1.6 players who always wanted to become the #1 in Germany but didn't make it in many years of trying it, finally seeing their chance after all good players retired. Both are known to be very arrogant and constantly whining about their mates performances. - 2 mediocre Sourcer who will never reach an international top level. stravros seem to have the brain of a paramecium. - 1 danish 1.6 AWP player. Can't say anything bad about him except that I don't believe he will ever transfer his 1.6 skills to CS:GO. I mean he made 8 frags on 2 maps against Quantic... Except karrigan this team is full of shitty personalities who all seem to lack some needed social skills and who will never be able to form a team with a true team-spirit. Also they lack a outstanding team-leader, a very important thing in German teams (just take a look at the history of German CS 1.6). Seriously that team is doomed to fail. Although I was a mousesports fans for many many years I just don't have any good feelings for that team. But ye, who's to blame...that piece of shit is all what's left from the German CS community. The funny thing is they call their 7/8 place on CPH Games a "good result". Ye sure most people expected a worse result BUT COME ON: THAT'S FUCKING MOUSESPORTS. Everytime the CS 1.6 mouz team didn't reach at least a top5 place a huge shit-storm started, players got switched ... now they are happy with being 8. What the fuck happened to mouz... haters_gonna_hate

Yes, but he's VERY VERY inconsistent. On some days he plays extremely good, but then he has these days where he plays like a huge noob. He often risks way too much and plays incredible stupid. Have you seen the game against Quantic? That was so embarrassing.. If you want to play on a top level you need to show some consistence.

probably because hes not only playing a new game but also took on team leader role, I see him getting more consistent quick as he will get more used to calling/CSGO by the month. I must agree it is unlikely he will probably not be able to reach his insane 1.6 level though, and that he deserves an international topteam, but he himselve chose to turn his back on players like trace moddi and fris for mouz, instead of waiting for himselve and his teammates to reach their 1.6 level (or near it, which would be enough for world top5 if they found a good IGL/5th)

Yes, and in this game zonixx made a very good job and for the first time I felt like they're really playing as a team. So why did they decide to change the lineup now?! In his statement zonixx says that he realized some problems inside the team (communication/team-spirit) nobody was going to work on. So he contacted the management. Instead of solving this problem the management contacted the other players and then they decided to kick zonixx. I bet the "problem" was that some of the remaining players are constantly whining and bitching about their mates and putting the team down. Also they didn't seem to have a clear lead. Everyone thinks he knows better than his mates (especially Troubley, approx and probably also nooky). If you watched the videos from the CPH Games and if you understand German you could clearly see that nooky wasn't really a "team-leader" (I'm not just blaming him, it's also about the attitude of his mates). Already strux1 and stavros (when they got kicked) said that the team-spirit was broken due players being arrogant as fuck. Instead of fixing that problem they just kick someone. But even funnier: They bring back a player who already faced that problem and who was mad because of it and who (after being kicked) made jokes about the remaining players. How will this help to create a team with a good spirit??

I always felt approx was one of the most skilled 1.6ers in the German scene. After roman and cyx I really liked his aim and skill.

stavros speaks perfectly German (he lives in Germany; probably even born in Germany). karrigan is the only one who needs to "change his language" but his German is actually pretty good.

If they won't win the EPS title in april, i would kick the whole team. Seriously get your shit together mousesports! I'm missing personalities like kapio, roman, gob b, moon, roman r and tixo. Of course it takes time to form such players. Our german pros are such a joke atm. I'm the last who likes to whine, but this changes all the time are just to much! Buy Alternate players or what ever. mouz did it already in 2007 and 2010, so just do it!
