ESC knock out n!faculty
ESC Gaming have eliminated n!faculty from the tournament by winning 2-0 in the lower bracket semi-final (16-3 on de_dust2_se & 16-9 on de_mill_b2).
As the action continued in Dallas, Texas, a European clash between n!faculty and ESC Gaming took place in the second round of the lower bracket, or rather in one of the lower bracket semi-finals. The Germans were coming off a win against Denial, while ESC once against disappointed against VeryGames, losing easily 2-0 in the upper semis.
As usual throughout the tournament, the Poles were the lower seeded team so they couldn't veto all three non-standard maps. Nevertheless, that meant they could pick the first map and side, and they selected T on de_dust2_se.
They stormed out with convincing play going up 5-0 before Simon "smn" Beck clutched a 1vs2 to put his team on the scoreboard. Sadly for the Germans, ESC won the next round and forced them on a double eco which turned the result into 8-1.

The next buy round went to n!faculty, but ESC once again replied right away via Mariusz "Loord" Cybulski's 1-on-2 clutch. This time they didn't reset the Germans' economy though, as Andre "Kirby" Kempa scored several excellent headshots at catwalk to make the score 9-3.
However, that was all they could put up on this map as ESC didn't give them a chance in the remaining rounds, with Cybulski especially excelling. In the end, he finished with an incredible 29:7 score as ESC secured a 16-3 victory in the first map.
The clash continued on de_mill_b2, which made its debut in this match as all of the other maps had been played at least once already, and n!faculty chose the CT side to start on.
But even on their map, things still went badly for the Germans who lost the pistol round and despite winning the first buy, saw their efforts blown away in the round after. The score quickly became 7-1 and if it wasn't for Benjamin "qk-Mantis" Oberlein winning a 1vs3 to make it 7-2, it would have been even worse for his team than.
The teams then exchanged two rounds, and Oberlein again clutched for 8-4, putting himself on to 16:7 score, right on par with ESC's top fragger Filip "Neo" Kubski.

The last three rounds went to the Poles for an 11-4 half time lead, but n!faculty took the pistol round and prolonged the match. Their former in-game leader Christoph "disruptor" Dölger kept his nerves when the second anti-eco went wrong, making the score 11-7 with his clutch, and he did the same three rounds later for 13-8.
It was apparent though that ESC are on the right path to win and they only allowed one more round to be taken away from them, clinching the map 16-9 with Kubski on top having 29 kills.
