WW, LDLC round up EMS One finals

Western Wolves has topped group D of RaidCall EMS One group stage while LDLC.com has clinched the second place to also qualify for the finals.

The Frenchmen featuring former VeryGames star Kenny "kennyS" Schrub had a rough start as they tied ALTERNATE in round one and then fell short against the Danes 14-16 in the second round.

Jacob "Pimp" Winneche's squad finished their group stage with a spotless 3-0 record and bolster a higher seed going into the finals event later this month in Cologne, Germany.

kennyS' LDLC.com survived a scare in RC EMS One group stage

Despite the early tie versus LDLC.com, ALTERNATE struggled and weren't able to put up another win, losing to both Western Wolves and iNation, who managed a third place in the group.

With Western Wolves and LDLC.com now also having qualified for the $35,000 finals event on June 29-30th, the full team list looks as follows:

Denmark Copenhagen Wolves Russia Virtus.pro Denmark fnatic Denmark Western Wolves
Poland ESC Gaming France VeryGames Sweden NiP France LDLC.com

In addition to that, third place finisher in each group of the main round will directly qualify for each of the four qualifying cups for RC EMS One Fall. Following teams made it:

Ukraine Natus Vincere Germany n!faculty
Sweden Team X Serbia iNation

RaidCall EMS One Summer finals will take place on June 29-30th at the ESL TV studios in Cologne, Germany, but you can already see a majority of these teams in action this weekend at DreamHack.

Top 8 teams in the world currently if I'm not mistaken. Should be amazing :D Fun Fact though: All three Danish sides had a 100% record in the group stages, and they were also the only sides to have 100% records. The Danish scene so strong :D

Nah Anexis are not part of my top 8, they would be but they are quite a way off for some reason. I'd like to see them at least do well in future (British bias ofc) :p

it can't be better than cph games ems one lacks US top teams and single elimination format may cause randomness.

Nah, production at CPH Games was terrible. The level of the teams + ESL's capability is above everyone else.

the same teams here were at CpH plus US top teams. organisation, production wise it will definately be better, but it's always easier to organise a 8 team tournament than for 32 teams plus byoc.

But CPH didn't have the same hype and the same turnout. These are arguably the 8 best teams in the world right now (+/- US teams of course). And therefore it is guaranteed top notch from the beginning, I mean judging by these 8 teams, it's practically impossible to guess how its going to go. And production, etc. is VERY important, I don't care if its harder with 32 teams, I want to watch great games and great casters without delays and with lots of insight. EMS events do exactly that, Dreamhack tried, but they failed and CPH Games, well.. it didn't go that well there either.
