Lemondogs, ESC proceed to playoffs
ESC Gaming send Cursive packing after a one sided match (16-9 on de_mirage_ce), while Lemondogs survived against fnatic in overtime (19-16 on de_dust2_se).
The uncommon group stage system developed by HLTV.org's own Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen saw fnatic and Lemondogs playing rematch for survival in Group D. The first pistol round went to the former, who started off as Terrorists on de_dust2_se.
Both anti-ecos went as expected for the Danes, who won both of them, losing no money at all in the process. That helped them to buy even after two lost gunrounds and get a momentum going for eight straight rounds.

cype was the deciding factor in the match versus fnatic
Last three rounds of the first half and a quick B push in the second pistol round helped the Swedes to reduce fnatic's lead to only one round. Several rounds went back and forth, which forced Andreas "MODDII" Fridh's team to a couple of save and half-buy rounds.
Both desperate rounds worked out for fnatic and helped them retake the lead 14-12. Isak "cype" Rydman's great individual plays tied the score at 14-14, before Michael "Friis" Jørgensen made a strong case to take his team on a match point. The last round was Lemondogs' to lose against fnatic's AWPer, who failed to win an improbable B bombsite retake in a 1v2 situation.
The overtime went much in the way of the Swedes except for one round of individual play by Finn "karrigan" Andersen, which means Lemondogs will be joining LDLC.com in the playoffs.
de_mirage_ce was the map of choice in the match between ESC Gaming and Cursive. Although the Finns got off to a solid start with winning their Counter-Terrorist pistol round, Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas and his team replied strongly on the first eco.
The Poles capitalized on the unexpectedly won eco and started racking up rounds in their favor, shutting down Cursive's attempts again and again until the score was at 9-1. Aleksi "allu" Jalli's team took three rounds of the remaining five before switching to Terrorists.
The pistol round also went to Cursive, it did not scare off ESC Gaming though as they went on to take most of the remaining rounds to win 16-9 and proceed to the playoffs from second place in Group C.
There is only one match remaining today, which is the ongoing grand final of Swedish Championship 2013 between Ninjas in Pyjamas and Epsilon. SteelSeries CS:GO Championship will continue with the quarter-finals tomorrow at 10:00 .
