Steam to allow game sharing?

Valve has added some lines of code to Steam that suggest that game sharing may be possible in the future.

NeoGAF poster Grief.exe discovered that in the last Steam update, Valve has added a 'Shared game library', which suggests that at some point you will be able to lend your friends the games that you own on Steam.

Right now, every game that you purchase is tied to your account, and you cannot sell or lend them to other Steam users. But the following three lines of code indicate that you will be able to share games with your friends:

"SteamUI_JoinDialog_SharedLicense_Title" "Shared game library"

"SteamUI_JoinDialog_SharedLicenseLocked_OwnerText" "Just so you know, your games are currently in use by %borrower%. Playing now will send %borrower% a notice that it's time to quit."

"SteamUI_JoinDialog_SharedLicenseLocked_BorrowerText" "This shared game is currently unavailable. Please try again later or buy this game for your own library."

It is still unclear how Valve plans to implement game sharing and if this change will ever see the light of day, as publishers are not too keen on letting games be shared for free.

Obviously.Other way would've been stupid. But locking out borrower whenever you want to play makes up for this idea.

Pretty sure whoever borrowed you game will get banned also. They will simply say,control whoever you borrowed your game.We take no responsibility.

you can already make a new account and copy/paste your csgo folder into it and it works

Won't work at all. It's not only the account that is spotted when cheating, but also the game ID.

Right... Behind every joke, there is an underlying truth. the system is half there already. you can gift games as you buy them just not give them away after buying them for your own account. so it could happen in the near future

Yeah, I quite like how they in many occasions justified it by pretty much saying "look at Steam, they do it, why shouldn't we?". Well there goes that argument down the toilet (it was quite a poor one to begin with tho) :D

The player the lends the game will play with his own steamID (not the steamID from his friend that gave it to him). Dont you think they've thought about it already? Think please.

Account sharing is against TOS,and they have every right to shut your shit down at any time once you share your account. I wouldn't risk my acc for this tbh,so wouldn't most people.So it changes pretty much everything;)

Also, if your friend wants to try a game that you bought to see if he likes it, then you can just lend it to them and let them try it out without compromising your steam account.

I wonder what happens with your steamid when you lend it out? Does it use yours, or the person you are borrowing it to? What happens if they cheat? Who gets banned?
