Sprintfox lose CS:GO team

Sprintfox and their CS:GO team have decided to part company, the multinational squad have confirmed to HLTV.org.

Sprintfox became an instant hit when they finished 3rd-4th in the first cup of the last RaidCall EMS One season, beating teams like fnatic and ALTERNATE to secure 50 points in the tournament ranking.

In the other cups they did not perform nearly as well, but they still managed to get a place in the EMS One group stage, in which they finished at the foot of Group A following defeats to CPH Wolves, ESC Gaming and Natus Vincere.

More recently, Sprintfox were seen in action in June's FACE IT $1,500 cup, in which they were eliminated in the first round after suffering a 2-0 defeat against fbgaming.

In the wake of these results, Sprintfox decided to part company with the CS:GO division, a decision the players themselves had been mulling over for some time.

"Basically we were kicked from sprintfox at 3.30 in the morning which doesn't really come as a huge blow to us as we think we weren't going to be around much longer. We feel prozac (the manager) knew this, so he decided to make the first move," Daniel "danielsan" Boundy told HLTV.org.

"It has all just blown up recently as we have had our suspicions for a while about this org, or more precisely 'prozac' as he is the manager and only person we have had contact with. We basically lost faith as time progressed and recently we tried to call him out on it.

"In the beginning everything was fine, especially after we won a few games in the first EMS Raidcall Cup and were doing pretty well. He became euphoric and started making promises. We started discussions about attending Prague lan and also that he had an agreement with a LAN center where we could bootcamp.

"After the second cup where we did not do as well as in the first one and he said that his CEO had doubts that we could perform as a team. It felt like he was constantly changing his mind about us. In the beginning he had tols us he wanted to do everything step by step and that he was not looking for constant big results from us, but wanted to see dedication, which we showed.

"We were not really asking for anything at this time, we just wanted to know if Prague was going to happen as we had to prepare (take holidays from work/pracc, etc) and he always just stayed in two minds. We really just wanted a confirmation on Prague, a simple yes or no. He started talking to various players saying that he thinks it will be a waste of money if we do not win and that we should go to Dreamhack Bucharest instead. It has really been just constant discussions between prozac and various players about Prague for the last two weeks, but he avoided telling us if we would or would not attend.

"There is so much more, but it all basically comes down to the fact that eventually, we just don't trust him and he knew it. We don't want to go too much into details, because it kind of just gets unprofessional and trashy.

"So now we will carry on as a team and see what happens. We will not be attending Prague as it is only next weekend and it is too short notice for us financially."

The multinational team are currently on the lookout for a new organisation to represent and can be reached at [email protected]. The team's lineup is the following:

Germany Marius "mjR" Hüter
United Kingdom Daniel "danielsan" Boundy
Sweden Robin "robiin" Sjögren
Norway Stian "centeks" Ledal
Greece Konstantinos "tsack" Theodoropoulos

Come on... a bunch of mix players that plays esea 24/7 makes a team, beats a couple of teams online in EMS and now gets newspost and all that. Let them perform on lan first otherwise it will be a rainfest of them splitting up and coming together again after a team fight.

In their defence, they've stuck together for quite long now and are attending Mad Catz. Giving them some publicity to find an org is only positive

Today, after talking with our Marketing Manager and also our CEO, we’ve decided to finish the support we’ve been giving to our current line-up. This may be or not may be sad. In the end, we’ve learned from it. We’ve agreed since day one the team joined Sprintfox, that we’re going to support them at any point, if they show clearly they want to reach something. To show so, we were awaiting some kind of results, obviously. I guess, it’s the smallest thing an organization can request from its players, if she’s going to pay basically the full flights, lodging, transport and other expenses. At the beginning, everything was the way it should. Then a pretty bad message hit us as company: Robin got VAC-banned. At this point, our CEO lowered the budget and called to be aware. Robin told us clearly that it was because he injected a cheat into WarZ and while playing WarZ, he was also playing CS:GO at the same time. In the end the team decided, to keep him. Once this was sorted out, they were playing in a good way, taking the A-Series qualifier and first two EMS cups pretty serious. After that point, it started to turn pretty more into the contrary way. The performance started to sink, the mood turned into be pretty bad. So we decided to make the offer, to send them to the District Prague LAN below the premise, they have to prepare themselves in a way we can get a proof from it. Means, again, results. But no positive results were achieved. Sure, Robin may say it was because they had no chance to practice with other good teams, so they could get into a proper position. On the other site, teams like Na’Vi offered them to practice on regularly at a certain day and hour. Well, the first day, the practice couldn’t happen because it was too early. Then the team told me clearly, that they want to arrange their practices by their own. So, I didn’t put my hands on it anymore. I mean, it was surely a sad coincidence they didn’t get invited into the FB group, but I’m pretty sure that’s not the only reason why the results were turning down. And yes, CS:GO isn’t a game which doesn’t generates money in a big way yet, like League of Legends or other games. Anyways, if you want to make yourself a name – no matter if you like it or not – you have to do it online. Because it basically depends on the range of publicity and its impact, if you’re going to have proper and additional sponsor and / or partner. You need people which admires you, use you as their favorite player and so on. But in the end – sadly – in the most cases, that only happens online. I wish myself there was a proper chance for teams which aren’t that much known yet, to qualify themselves in an international LAN-Qualifier like the one happened in Minsk. But to be honest, it should be for all kind of bigger events. Generally, the paranoia of people cheating is overflowing, no matter where you look at. And the saddest thing about all this story is, their paranoia is justified. While in other games you can pretty much trust everyone, because of the lack of possibilities to cheat or hack, in CS:GO you’ve to be aware at any time when you play against someone else online. So, in the end, we’re still looking for a team which wants to reach something and go forward. Especially when I’m writing this right now, I want to put the accent on “wants to reach something”. We’re not looking for people to use them as publicity whores. And we’re not looking for someone to promote Sprintfox in a massive big way. But we’re looking for people who have a dream and agree, that they’re not going to be supported properly, if they don’t show efforts in the same way. We offer to support them the same way as we’ve offered it to the previous line-up. A limited team budget of 1.500€ at the beginning, which will be raised continuously every month and which gets a bonus each time they bring proper results back to home. Obviously they’ll have also a Game- and Teamspeakserver. I guess, it’s a fair offer for every team which wants to do a start-up. Nonetheless, I wish the best for Robin, Marius, Stian, Kostas and Daniel. May their dreams come true soon enough. Fare thee well. (English transcript of the statement released on 4th July at 99damage.de) Thanks MIRAA for checking your mails.

I would ask myself who's the bigger disgrace. The one in need to lie - basically releasing a statement which doesn't corresponds to the truth, or the one who has offered and didn't get anything back of what he has been told? I don't need to say anything negative about the previous lineup. I only said, what everyone has seen.

One only gets the reputation people gives him. But no one asks if the one giving it is negatively related emotionally to it by his own attitude. E.G.: I confront someone with the fact, that because he has been VAC-Banned, it will be harder to find a proper partner / sponsor, because obviously they'll also be aware. I confront the same person with the fact, people don't want to pracc against him and his team, just because of the fact he has been VAC-Banned recently in the past. And you get as answer: "Oh lord, fuck yourself retard." Guess every other organisation would have kicked them out after that. It's like the game against kibaken and company: You simply cannot call people "shit cunts" and rage in an official game. It's simply not the way it should be. To be honest, I never said something different to what I've stated. And no, obviously I'm not going to support a team for a LAN if it doesn't brings the proper efforts or if I cannot see proper results incoming soon. That for, there wasn't enough time. If that means to be shady, then - holy shit, I'm a fucking shadow. But, anyways: Can you see somewhere the amount of fucks I give on it? But at least I'm not the one in need to lie or tell weird stories.

seems like you don't understand it takes time to get results, obviously if you expect high results monthly in the first few months of support the team isn't going to make it. it seems unprofessional as hell to come on the forums and post your opinion and argue with people, it would have been much better to leave it be.

Not centeks. Tbh - in my opinion the best player of the team. At least the one, which mostly has been working on himself, trying to improve his stuff at any time, besides tsack. Both are simply great have a huge amount of potential. And again, it may be only my small opinion, but also the one of many many others.
