Snajdan returns in new Blank team

Former 4Kings and SK Gaming star Mattias "Snajdan" Andersen has announced that he has ventured into CS:GO with a new team called Blank.

The Swedish veteran was a household name in the Counter-Strike scene, having played for some of the game's most iconic teams, including GoL, 4Kings and SK Gaming.

He has been inactive since late 2011, when he was replaced by Jimmy "Jumpy" Berndtsson in the team called players, who also boasted Emil "striker" Westerberg and Marcus "zet" Sundström, formerly of SK and NiP, respectively.

Andersen has now decided to give CS:GO a chance as he teams up with former players team-mates Danniél "dalito" Morales and Daniel "rape" Börzsönyi in a new team called Blank.

Snajdan will try his luck in CS:GO

Making up the rest of the squad are Anton "waver" Wiberg, who has been inactive since leaving Lemondogs in April, and Christoffer "lunedi" Olsson, who played for swecon in 1.6.

Contacted by fragbite.se, Andersen stressed that this is a serious project, so we can expect this team to be attending some tournaments in the near future.

Blank's lineup looks as follows:

Snajdan is seriously the king of strategy. He is easily one of the greatest in game leaders in cs history(IN HIS PRIME) I woulnd't say a comeback would be useless for him. He is an extremtly smart individual and i think hes going to do great.

of course we are, there are many new players who have come onto the professional CS scene that I do not recognize (i've been following cs for the past 5 years). there will always be new up and coming players, stop being illogical. just like with any sport, there will always be individuals who make breakthroughs. no ones skill level is set in stone, improvement is determined by the amount of work and practice someone puts in.

i can't believe you are having trouble understanding the concept that it is possible for someone to improve in a game through practice. also, you seem to have changed a premise from your earlier post that argues "since he is new to the cs go scene, he will not succeed" to "name a player that has succeeded in CS GO that was not from any CS game". The difference between your arguments are that the first ignores non-CS:GO competitive experiences while the second states to include those who have played previous CS versions competitively. even your questions are inconsistent therefore making them hard to understand, i'll try to address the issue i think you are trying to infer to me. ANY AND EVERY PLAYER AT SOME POINT IN THEIR GAMING CAREER WILL BE, what you call "out of shape", UNLESS THAT GAME JUST CAME OUT OR THAT GAMES COMPETITIVE SCENE HAS JUST STARTED. but if you really need an example to comprehend this simple concept, look at someone like Michael3D from curse gaming. even though he is no longer competing in CS GO due to monetary incentives from playing COD, he was able to compete on a top 3 American team not having much competitive background from CS in general. He did this through HARD WORK and PRACTICE. You cannot deny the possibility that if Curse gaming had stuck to GO and had continued to practice hard, that they might be able to beat teams like VG and Nip. Of course this example doesn't satisfy your request of a person who is "now" competing, but it still proves that your theory in general is flawed. I am sure there are a countless amount of better examples out there that I cannot think of at the moment.

This gives me mixed feelings. Snajdan is/was my favourite cs player of all time. The stuff he did in SK was legendary. But his most recent comeback to Lions (in 2011?) was very dissapointing for me. I feel it tarnished his legendary status for a lot of the fans. But true fans know what he is capable of. GL and i hope for the best!

I think its wrong to have that opinion of him upon his return, he had a big load to carry being an IGL of a team with a bunch of unbelievable talented players(whom could put his legend in the shadow). He did what was best for the team, he called, dropped his gun to the better riflers, and never looked for stardom in his games. Snajdan was incredible for his ingame thinking, not so much for his frags. P.S. It's hard to make a comeback on players like NEO, f0rest, GTR, trace, etc, etc. after such a long hiatus. It's kind of like SpawN and HeatoN returning in their mix teams for DH.

Ive watched snajdan since his 4K and GoL days. Individually hes never been one of the top dominant Swedish players. Early on in his career the Swedish scene was ruled by players like fisker, Potti, HeatoN, then below them you had guys like ScreaM vesslan and so many others. Later guys like SpawN, Hyper, vilden were always a level or so above him. Later guys like f0rest, zet.. so many names. snajdan was like goodfella. Definitely a high caliber player but never a star player in any era of CS. The SK team he was in was one of the weakest lineups the org had ever had and by the time he started blank he was already in the twilight of his career. It was quite sad to see him come back in 2011 where it was clear his individual skill was lacking compared to the average top level player. Sure he was calling but you really need to make frags aswell when you're an IGL. 2 years later and another comeback... while its nice to see old names this really is a young mans game. I can understand his passion to compete, I just dont see him being able to compete at the top level ever again.

That's the thing though, the fact you didnt have ScreaM's aim, or Potti's clutch capabilities back in the day didn't matter quite as much. elemeNt and xqetr were never overwhelmingly talented players, but they outsmarted people and got the rounds. At the end of the day that's what counts. Snajdan may have never been a star like hyper, zet, or spawn, but he stuck on teams that were consistently in the top 5. That makes him a good player in my books.

I dont think 4K were or ever have had a top5 team, GoL when they had digital and snajdan were long past their glory days when GoL had hyb in his prime and element. I honestly think when he was in SK that was the weakest period for Swedish CS ever. The whole drama's with SK players leaving to reform NiP with EYE's best players, then all that failing and the aftermath from that, snajdan was one of the players recruited to fill some of those gaps. Was SK05 a top 5 team? Maybe.. I mean they won a weak CPL against a team that had never made a final or high place international finish before or after (off memory) but they still won a CPL championship while I believe the top teams were competing for a much bigger prize pool in WEG or something like that? So long ago, hard to remember all the details.. No doubt he was a top level player but imo not a legend. Also just a side note. If you think back to elemeNt and XeqtR, I guess a timeline is really relevant. I can vividly remember matches where both these players just destroyed world class teams on LAN in some high pressure, big money events. I suppose towards the end of their careers they were nolonger able to outaim top level guys but in the early to middle parts of their careers both those players could go huge against anyone in the world. I mean imo before the f0rest/NEo era, elemeNt was probably the best player to ever touch the game. Its just unfortunate that he was a real douche.

NoA only really became successful with XeqtR. I dont think they won an international championship before he came along, even when they first picked up elemeNt I dont think they won any titles. After X joined they became WEG champions. If you are talking about WEG2 thats a bit unfair. ElemenT left because he didnt want to spend a couple of months playing WEG in asia again and NoA ended up picking up fisker because HeatoN had put him to 7th man when they left SK and reformed NiP with the lineup (HeatoN, SpawN, Hyper, ahl, vilden, Potti 6th, fisker 7th) Just before NoA was about to leave for WEG, NiP breaks up and they reform SK and ofcourse fisker is asked to join them and play with his IRL friends again and NoA are left with 4 men again right before they are leaving... they end up picking up a player who had been out of the scene for awhile and rusty and no teamwork to speak of and they basically got crushed in Asia and I think broke up after that? But yeah.. WEG champions, 2nd at one of the big CPL's and probably more wins and high place finishes, I think they did pretty well under XeqtR's leadership.

ElemenT has been an IGL in at least SK but X has always been THE IGL, and he was again in NoA. One of the reasons elemeNt ended up leaving was his relationship with X and the way he ran his teams. There are interviews with X talking about all this and he was definitely NoA's IGL
