[POD]Cast to feature trace tonight

Tonight's [POD]Cast set to start at 20:00 will feature former mTw, SK and most recently fnatic member Martin "trace" Heldt as a guest to talk about his Counter-Strike career.

Along side Heldt will be the usual trio behind the podcast, Patrik "cArn" Sättermon, Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen and Duncan "Thorin" Shields, who was last seen shoutcasting Prague Challenge.

What would you like to ask from Heldt in tonight's [POD]Cast? The hosts will be reviewing the comment section before starting the show so here's your chance to ask the former fnatic star a question.

trace will join [POD]Cast as a guest tonight

The show will kick off at 20:00 and will be streamed live on Sättermon's Twitch account, which is also featured on our front page under the name cArn.

A VOD will once again be published tomorrow on YouTube with an audio-only version being released through fnatic's website, an RSS feed and iTunes for those interested.

He's a great writer, but he's definitely not qualified to be a good caster, especially in lieu of the fact that many of his [POD]cast comments make him look as high-nosed and pretentious as he currently does. I mean I get butthurt about lurppis sometimes but at least the guy is humble and adaptive when he commentates

No, he is not qualified. As an analyser he has limited knowledge of the game and he interrupted and cut off Anders constantly during their casting. Also, passion =/= qualified if that's what you're implying

Oh, so that automatically means that he knows all the ins and outs of competitive CS and can give detailed analyses of different situations in a game? If so, why didn't he show that this weekend? He is nowhere near people like lurrpis or threat when it comes to that. Sure, if you're a complete noob and know nothing of the game of course you're going to think his analyses are good, or assume that they are anyway, because that's what they're supposed to be, that was his job during the weekend. Unfortunately he didn't live up to that. I didn't make an account on this site until recently because of the utter cesspool it is and because it's completely hopeless to try to start a discussion or argument without getting shitstormed by brainless spastics that blindly follows the hivemind of the site and are unable to any kind of thinking by their own. The fact that you judge me by the time I made my account just shows how ignorant you are. "LOL!" The reason I'm even bothering is because of what he said in the podcast before the event and the fact that he went there and made the exact same things he complained about. Had he not been so full of himself and talked down other casters like he's the dogs bollocks when in fact he's just as bad, if not worse, I wouldn't have said anything at all.

First of all he seemed to have a pretty big influence on Anders, leading him into talking nonsense and constantly interrupting him with smarmy remarks and pointless anecdotes. It interrupted the flow of the casting and didn't bring anything good to it. Everything he said was either completely obvious to anyone that has played the game, clueless dribble, fanboyism or abuse (although some of it was justified it just got boring listening to him slating Anexis for half an hour without being able to give any insight whatsoever about anything else, which was his job). No, I didn't dislike his casting because I'm a "sAucer" and a fan of the players in Anexis, I disliked it because he is a terrible caster with limited knowledge of the game who did exactly the things he complained about in the podcast which made the whole thing very ironic and hypocritical and not enjoyable at all. Unfortunately all the 1.6>"sAuce"-mongering spastics will suck him off at every opportunity they get whatever dribble comes out of his mouth.

Starting off with the obvious one(s): What were the main differences for him between 1.6 and GO? He obviously played with a team in GO that was roughly similar to the one he played with in 1.6, so the differences not only in how he approached the game, but how the game is approached team-wise should be all the more clear for him. Was his lack of motivation due to a lack of passion for the GO itself, or did he just get tired of CS in general (has he continued playing 1.6 inbetween?)? This obviously leads to the question if he can see himself coming back to CS should GO be changed in one way or another - and how he thinks the game should be changed.

Who was the best IGL you ever had, and what type of IGL do you like to play for the most ? What was your favorite lineup to play for with regards to both performing well and also having fun whilst playing ? Did you at any point really enjoy CSGO or was is more of like you felt you HAD to play it and try to get to your 1.6 level. Do you think you could ever have reached a somewhat close level to what you had in 1.6 if you had put the time in. Like the previous PODcast mentioned, you playstyle doesn't seem to fit CSGO - and we have more cases of this with players like neo struggling. Do you think you would have had to change your style of play ? When you joined that infamous SK lineup in 2011 what where the main reasons for it not working out ? communications or just the fact you where lacking a support type player ? What's next for Martin after having played a video game for a living for so long ? School ? Jobs in eSports ? Travel ?

Which teams do you expect the most to dominate in the next months ? Why ? Which teams do you expect to rise at the top in the next months ? Why ? Have you seen new talents in CS:GO who could potentially rise among the best players ? If yes, who, and why ? Do you think the CS:GO scene needs more global tournaments ? By that I mean inviting teams from all continents and/or hosting qualifiers for all continents ? What do you think about the current state of the CS:GO scene ? Do you think objectively that it can last, and how long ? Why ? Your top3 players in CS:GO so far ?

I have a question :) As one of the hosts have mentioned once in a previous PODcast, there was a topic about defensive players having trouble adjusting to the new game as opposed to the previous game (possible reasons being peeker's advantage or others). Do you believe that you have had a hard time adjusting because of your more "known" game style with this particular game, or have you been trying out new game styles once you've transferred over hoping to find one more suitable to CS:GO as opposed to what you were comfortable with in 1.6?

What changes would make you come back to CS:GO? What does CS:GO lack for you compared to CS1.6?

Neo or f0rest? I really want to know because I think you are the only one who ever performed on their level. (I know this question has been asked but I just want to make sure it gets addressed).

Well that should tell you to step up. I enjoy your knowledge as well as cArn's, but thoorin sounds unprofessional and all over the place. It hurts my head. He asks questions, answers them himself, that rants about something else inbetween before letting you or anyone answer the original question, huh?

I enjoy the show too. But thoorin is trying to hard for drama, and it shows. It's like a bad NA reality show, you know the shit is fake. Just my 2 cents.

thorin is exactly like he is in our off-podcast conversations, he's not trying to cause drama for show.

Well it seems like it. I guess you would know what the shows needs and what the viewers like, but I think it's a bit much from his end. I personally would prefer and more serious discussion, analysis, etc without his "acts". I also may be too old.

Because he's terrible debater. He interrupts people while they're telling their opinion, pretending his opinion is a fact and also calls cArn an idiot.

ok, i agree with the interrupting part, but i think that he just gets too emotiaonal in the arguments and that's why he calls carn an idiot.. but besides that, he is the one that brings out all the topics, and he's the guy with the opinion of an average cs player. the show would be boring if all three had the same opinion + the podcast would last 15 minutes, not 2 hours

Yes, you're right about the last part but I can't understand the fact that he gets emotional/mad if someone has a different opinion than him. I don't know why but somehow he gets into a ragemode and instead of having a normal discussion, it turns into a heavy, rude discussion.

guess you're right about that :) but still, he contributes alot to the show, yet people just like to pinpoint a moment when he raged.. on a side note, i think that most people that trashtalk him actually have the same opinion on many things as he does

The last half was so good. Remainds the old state of the game with incontrol and artosis if any of you watched that. I just hope Thorin won't quit because he is the one keeps the show interesting. I think that the show could use 4th person so carn could maybe be more like a host of the show. Just speculating but maybe he's work position is limiting some things he can say on the show.

I have to add, thorin nailed it on,the current state of csgo compared to 1.6,which was so much more balanced and not strongly favored better aimers.

i guess you have to get used to Thorin but from what I have seen (last 30min) it was just one man show. of course Thorin is right sometimes but basically he was saying that CS:GO is lot more aim based game than 1.6. OK I have no problem with that but god why cant he just say it simply (have to admit that Ex6TenZ kryptonite thing was funny). suddenly he is talking about GoT and idk where he would stop if someone wouldnt stop him. it just didnt felt like discussion. lurppis was just equaliser I didnt hear anything interesting from him and Carn was sitting there like some young kid waiting to be punished. Maybe Thorin was to hard on Carn sometimes but everything what Carn was able to say was: you are not a pro player. I totally understand what Carn ment by that but common you can do better than that. and finally the Nostalgie topic. I think its obvious. apEX and kennyS just won the game. of course there is some language barier, but clearly only kenny is bad at english so apEX could translate everything to him. I think Na`Vi were confident and didnt think that they might lose, so when things got messy to them, clearly they were nerves, and if you are loosing to the team that you should beat its never good. so yeah just wanted to say something about this podcas. love you all and balls of steel for Carn so he can handle mad Thorin next time :D
