Lemondogs skip DH Valencia

HLTV.org has learned that Lemondogs will not be showing up at DreamHack Valencia event that is supposed to start tomorrow morning.

In what appears to be a misunderstanding and lack of communication from both sides, it turns out that Swedish squad Lemondogs have chosen not to attend the 5,000€ DreamHack stop taking place in Valencia this week.

Delpan's team will not be seen in Valencia

The unsuspecting organizers drew Lemondogs into Group A with fm.TOXiC, Panthers and TsG earlier this week, as the Swedish squad never informed them about skipping the event, and at the same time they never contacted them to confirm the attendance either.

HLTV.org reached out to the owner of Lemondogs, Daniel "pani" Aicardi, to confirm the suspicions that arose in the community:

"We paid the entrance fee to guarantee a spot and then talk about whether we would go or not. In the end we decided not to go.

We are looking for the possibility to go to DreamHack Bucharest instead."

Lemondogs were last seen at DreamHack Summer where they knocked out fnatic in the group stage before losing to Virtus.pro in the quarter-final.

As of this moment, it is unknown how this will affect the group stage format and the schedule, but we will update our event page once we find out. Stay tuned to HLTV.org for DreamHack Valencia coverage.

Surely winning DHV would have been a good priority to make sure they qualified for DHW?

Yeah I know that, but they had a good chance of winning this event and wrapping up qualification of the DHW quicker rather than later. Going to Bucharest where the competition will be a lot tougher seems fine, but odd at the same time. Im guessing that DHV still haven't paid out from last year hence why NiP and VG aern't back again.
