Valve working on silencer update?

Valve has indicated that it won't release the weekly update for CS:GO this week, while dropping a hint that the highly-coveted silencer is in the making.

Ever since CS:GO came out last year, the community have requested that Valve introduce the silencer, which was very popular in 1.6 and CS:Source, in the game.

Surprisingly, Valve has tweeted that the traditional update for CS:GO that is released every Wednesday will not come out this week, giving no explanation for this decision.

What is interesting about this tweet is the choice of words: "suppressing" and "going silent" could very well be hints that a major update bringing the silencer with it is in the pipeline.

This is true. This game won't be as big as was the previous ones. They are trying to get more players with this sales, but the only thing they earned with it, that cheaters come back cheaper... Matchmaking servers still 64tick also kills the game.

Well if you don't really know where my comment comes from then obviously you haven't been on HLTV.org long enough... Hope it isn't the only "major" update. They're seriously inefficient in making the game constantly fluent after each update (FPS-wish). The among of FPS drop you will get from time to time while playing with smokes nearby is a deal breaker, as well as the overall decreased FPS which has happen since the launch. And as much as it is appreciated with the newest smoke-update it is a serious manner when it comes to keeping the game enjoyable. And this is even happening for people with some serious hardware. This just shouldn't happen.

Matchmaking, that was big forgot how incomplete this game started out as. However, the rest of that stuff is still broken (try ak spraying a guy 5 ft from u and tell me that's working) or didn't really matter like I mean they don't even use the mirage version in ESEA and major lans. And mirage is the best map without all the wall clutter of the other maps.

Recoil patterns are consistant, learn them and you'll be spraying fine with a little practice. I don't play matchmaking so I've only had to play the new crappy Mirage once :s

There's no need to change it's recoil. we just need more visible bullet impact or feedback from the recoil.. sometimes you're not sure where the bullet is going, even on pro level.

That for sure would help on 64 tick servers so hard to know sometimes. It's a bit odd an unrealistic where you have to put your crosshair to spray at very close range, odd compared to all other shooting games. It should have more "good out of the box" feel rather than something you have to get used to. It's the #1 reason this game has so few players.

First of all I seriously hope they'll convert CSGO to HL3 and second of all I seriously hope the new engine can bring something to the game which HL2 is lacking - being able to play the game a lot more fluently (online) and not encounting problems whilst playing against people with higher ping and/or worse fps as it is frustrating how the engine "deals with"/reads the game now with the among of delay and random predictions which makes it a lot less competitive.

I think we really need to give them a break. They are obviously trying. That Counter-ADAD-ish patch :D Map Changes on Inf and D2. These things take time... They need fix that fps bug to... My normal fps is 250/300 and some times when im playing, for some reason the fps drop for 50/90. For the fps up again i need restart cs:go :S really bad when we are playing MM/ESEA/... PS: this bug only appear with smokes update, before that update i never got this problem.

The maps, the movement, actually being able to distinguish players from the map behind them, cs:go is just an absolute fail compared to previous CS games, It is not even comparable. I still have no idea why the fuck they changed the entire colour scheme from an Arcade style look to semi-realistic. Tbh silencer was crap for m4 anyway in 1.6. It was not worth it in 1.6 to lose recoil control for sound but who nows in cs:go where spraying is crap silencer may be usefull.

Are you stupid or something. They already have problems with sound propagation. Especially when players are on different hight. Sound is coming from at least 2 meters nearer than it is in reality. Not to mention what is happening when at least 3 players are running from 3 different direction. With this issues silencer could be massive advantage. It has to be advantage, but reasonable...

"That random" is the key :D It is random, but if you will play on DM with awp and try 50% no/fast scopes you can find some scheme. I really like the fact that it's hareder than 1.6 because it was kinda easy that it wasn't sooo impressive. Now when I watch Guardian I can really appreciate skill :)

K let's have aim map, I'll take ak and you with you're lovely m4 on long range. you 1 hit me with 96 damage and I'll hit you 104 damage. the moment you are on CT side, you shoot a burst to the head and the guy shot you once and it hit you, you're dead. and dat slow reloading speed.. AK is good if you can control the recoil, even better with faster reloading speed and more damage. It's just that vertical recoil is high. Ak change pattern twice(left right left) and m4 change pattern 3 times (left right left right)

man tbh you don't know anything about the recoil. You can control sprays just fine, unlike in 1.6 it is 1 pattern per gun and the only "random" factor is getting shot at (aimpunch) while shooting. There is no issue with the sprays.

? the bullet is not precise, we all know the pattern but can you be so sure it's hitting the right target? I honestly don't understand how you are arguing that its "accurate but not precise" when if you just practice hard enough you will know where you are hitting in terms of where u started spraying and where ur moving your crosshair. If you are too dumb to realize that the recoil is controllable that way even without a crosshair or even without bullet holes then you should really reconsider your knowledge of CS.

first you're telling me to watch bullet holes to see where bullet is going, I reply you by saying that is the main problem in CSGO;you can't see the bullet holes or bullet impact and the bullet is not precise. "if you just practice hard enough you will know where you are hitting in terms of where u started spraying and where ur moving your crosshair" that's why I said just record a demo of you 5 minutes in deathmatch with your mighty recoil control skill. I'd piss myself off if you spray down worse than I do. I only have 200 hours of CSGO and what I know is that after so many years of 1.6 I still need to be able to see the bullet impact/holes/decay or whatever you call it which is not visible in CSGO.

i viewed your demo, your spraying is actually worse than what i showcased. I'm sure anyone who would read this would agree with me on that. Also, your playing 64tick valve servers which obviously means you have no clue on how to have the most optimized hitboxes. Your getting 1-2 second delay on each kill which makes me laugh at how you are judging the game with such a bad setup. You are so in denial that you believe spraying is bad no matter what evidence i give you.

what?? I didn't had the chance to view the whole video yesterday. I asked you how to spray the whole 30 clip properly... you showed me a video of you playing on deathmatch bursting all the way until the end.. what. I know how to burst. I know how to strafe, to wait recoil to cool down, start from the head, pull down abit. I'm confused of how you spray down the whole clip and still hitting everything.

You sir obviously have 0 clue about anything you're saying in regards to this game, What he was doing was spraying he just doesn't need a full clip to kill 1 person. How often do you find yourself spraying down multiple enemies on deathmatch??? Also, i'm not suprised in the slightest that you find it hard due to the fact that i could run a less laggy internet connection from my microwave to my toaster than you have and to finish things off you're clearly deluded about your skill level. Yes I know it's not necessary to spray down a full clip to kill 1 person but I'm asking how to spray down efficiently and it does not efficient in GO as it is in 1.6. it's not effective in DM but of course you would spray down multiple enemies if you're holding rushes. please, you're not helping at all. I could just play against bot in 128 tick doing full spray and it's still random after more than 11th bullets. What's wrong with trying to learn full clip spraying? yes It's useless in deathmatch but I'm asking because I wanted to learn and you really need to talk shit about my skill level? Actually it's a lot simpler: 1.6: - recoil is always going up, and always going either left or right (and the screen always jumps to where the next bullet will go). - next bullet always goes above the current bullet, unless it's already on the vertical cap of the recoil. - screen jumps to the left, next bullet goes to the left (and above) of the current bullet, unless it's already on the horizontal cap of the recoil. - screen jumps to the right, next bullet goes to the right (and above) of the current bullet, unless it's already on the horizontal cap of the recoil. - if bullets are already at both vertical and horizontal cap and keep pushing in the same direction (up-right or up-left) they'll effectively group in the "corner" of the recoil-cap until it changes horizontal direction again. GO: - all hit's are instant ray-cast, tracers only show the PAST bullet, there's no slow-travel projectiles. - bullets DO NOT group (not for ARs), aiming the next bullet where the previous bullet WAS will always miss, instead the stream of bullets is always moving (ever played Snake?). - recoil ALWAYS does the same thing every time (but each weapon recoil is unique), but accuracy is affected by movement or aim-punch (awful yeah, everybody hates it).

huh . how do I learn it if there's no clue of where the bullet is going.. so I just run until I see someone, stand still. spray from the head, pull down, move my mouse to the right, to the left, to the right? tried. didn't work.

This. Though they'd just get a shit ton of abuse I feel because of how poorly they designed and followed up the game. They promised regular updates but its been like 11 months since release and the game still has glaring weaknesses. After a year of people complaining about the silencer they finally add it, at least they added it but it should have been implemented way sooner.

I think they had a few weeks where they got a fair amount of people working on the game, added militia and the new hostage rescue system and then since then they basically contract people in the company on an hourly basis to update a few bits here and there.

Guys, I'm honestly doubtful. I mean, okay, the choice of words is definitely there, but I'm not sure it would take weeks to include a silencer. You act like the silencer in 1.6 had any influence on the balance.. He didn't. The 1.6 concept was perfectly balanced: More damage on short range, less damage on long range, more vertical spread in the first bullets, less spread in the following bullets. I heard the sauce silencer was kind of op and everyone with a brain used it. But in 1.6 it was like 50%-%50. Playing with a silencer wasn't "better" than playing without a silencer. Smart people used the silencer only when camping and waiting for enemies to appear on close range, for rushes they used no silencer. But most people just played with what they were used more: If the silencer-recoil fits you more (like it obv. did to f0rest) than you always played with silencer. If the non-suppressed M4 fits you more, then play without silencer. There is no "better option". The concept was flawless. Also: The AK was always better than the M4. The silencer didn't change that. But yes, I'm pretty sure Valve is going to fuck this up. Either the silencer will become just a visual gadget or they will miss up the balance between the normal M4 and the suppressed M4. It's Valve...

This game is GREAT as is, who the fuck cares about a silencer that is in the way most of the time ? accidently pressin it and so on. And the movement is awesome, not like 1.6 , fucking stops when u jumped, wierd slowcrouching through holes/vents and shit and the nades in 1.6 , goes nowhere. And the trollinwhiningKIDS , move on. 1.6 was a great game, learn how to play go instead.
