Areena #3 for CS:GO in August

Our writer Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen will host another Areena gather tournament on August 10th, this time in CS:GO and sponsored by SteelSeries and Jimm's PC Store with prizes worth over 3,200€.

Areena #3 CS:GO will take place on August 10th starting at 09:00 at Pelitalo in Helsinki, same setting as the two previous events in Counter-Strike 1.6 in late 2012 with a price of 20€ per participant.

The third event will feature product prizes worth up to 1,550€ from SteelSeries and an estimated 750€ from Jimm's PC Store. All the sign up fees of 800€ will also be given back as prizes, with ESEA Premium codes to top it all off.

Will allu continue his winning ways in the CS:GO Areena?

A total of fourty players will be able to enter the event, with the best eight chosen as captains to pick the teams they will compete with, ensuring everyone has a chance to win.

Eight teams will be divided into two groups of four, with no one being eliminated in the group stage. Playoffs will feature an eight team double elimination bracket to crown the champions.

Below is a preliminary schedule for the event:

09:00 Check-in and team selection
10:00 Group stage round one
11:00 Group stage round two
12:00 Group stage round three
14:00 Upper bracket round one
15:00 Upper bracket round two & lower bracket round one
16:00 Lower bracket round two

19:00 Grand final

Above it was mentioned Areena #3 CS:GO by SteelSeries and Jimm's would feature prizes worth over 3,200€. Information on how to sign up is on Areena's Facebook page.

ahah, dude it's just like simple finnish lan with pretty good 300 euros & hardware w/ good computers and stable FPS, maybe with 120hz monitors our Moscow lans have 400-500$ lans without hardware; PC specs are shitty etc and whole organization of event sucks; simple native lan i mean

ofcourse, dude what the fuck are you talking about? :) i won't type shit if i don't know anything about this shit, you feel me? i've been in Dialog-Club @ Lyuberci by GLHF.ru orgs(mythril, pin4 etc)many times; 3rd place @1.6 need2lead nonpro lan cup; and i can only say that it was shitty as fuck; latro, worldedit & co were sitting on best PC's(250+fps) and we were sitting on worst PC's ever (CS:GO menu 70fps) so, we have only one guy who can host a normal CS:GO tournament, his nickname is MPKBK(retired CSS player) now he comments CS matches on FMR stream; you don't have a clue, boy

actually u dont have a clue dude. for 1.6 u can play with calculator, strange to see complaints about 1.6 and hardware. the only problems of lans in moscow were delays due to switch crashes and due to stupid people, who always went for a break between games, which resulted in delays. the organisation was always good, except for technical problems in click-net, for example in MGC computers are VERY good and all the stuff is at high level, same went for 4GAME

If you think these are good prizes you are off your face. Somebody could argue with me here but at the end of the day even NiP are earning as much as a McDonalds worker or a person who stacks shelves in a super market. CS is embarassing when it comes to prize pools and most games are. You nerds just need to move on, you all live in holes. Rip me all you want, it's the truth and I love CS but you nerds live in a world that doesn't exist.

you shouldn't compare a fucking mcdonald's worker with guys from NIP; i'm not sure that mcdonald's worker loves his work :) and i'm pretty sure that NiP love to play CS and stack money i live in a beatiful city called Moscow, i play CS and another games, i love to hang out with my friends and i'm not a virgin like you british hoe you have no clue and all you need is shut the fuck your fucking mouth and drink some lager, stupid goofy ass

You are clearly missing my point. The truth is a McDonalds worker earns as much as a professional CS player. This isn't aimed at just this tournament but all of them. Why would an organisation pay for flights and accommodation for a team that they know won't win or even get a good enough prize purse to secure THEM profit and also the players to be satisfied enough with staying with the organisation? Look in the news archive and you will see some of the biggest names shutting down. I don't want to go into too much detail, you got it spot on the fact that CS players are getting paid to play something they love. Isn't it the same for every professional thing you do? Whether it be Finance, Insurance, IT or Medicine. You can have a profession in anything and your maturity shows you do not understand this yet you feel the need to curse my 'British how ass'. Look at your own country before you slate mine. And I agree with you again, my country is in a shit state, but at least we don't line up our own soldiers and if they retreat we shoot them. I enjoy a beer as much as anybody else does you illiterate child.

You were referring to him that he should start his own tournament if he was not satisfied. There by saying if he can't do it better himself he can not be displeased with the pricepool. And i pointed out that it was an excellent argument from your side (sarcasm).

maybe i should come to support team who wins gets 100e from me. or maybe best player price 100e + some price, but that would be so stupid because i would change the best player to the oldest player and thats natu and he would get the 100e.
