Portugal added to ESWC list

Portugal has been added to the list of countries that will host a qualifier for this year's ESWC world finals.

The qualifier will take place from September 27th to 29th in Aveiro, in the north of Portugal, under the wings of a LAN party that will be organised by Undefined Ninjas, a local gaming organisation.

CS:GO is one of the games that will be played at this qualifier, just like Shootmania and Fifa 14.

The sign-up fee for the CS:GO competition is €30 per player, and teams are required to bring their own computers to the venue as the first stages of the tournament will be played there.

To find out more info about the Portuguese ESWC qualifier, check out its official website.

Below you can find the list of all the qualifiers that have so far been confirmed:

France France United Kingdom United Kingdom
United States United States
France France
Germany Germany
Europe Europe
Brazil Brazil
Pakistan Pakistan
Denmark Denmark
Norway Norway Portugal Portugal Europe Europe / United States USA
Sweden NiP (2012 winner)

Yes, i think so. All those who wanted/want a ESWC qualifier had/have to pay a considerable amount of money to ESWC organization, i just guess that that "amount" has been growing from year to year, and countries (at least Europe) economy is getting weaker... which explains why there are less qualifiers... but it's just a guess.

thanks for the info, but I still think that it's a terrible format, one team from each country, sweden has 4/5 teams that I think deserve it and that I would like to see play, same goes for denmark, france, etc...

Well, I'm guessing that no regional qualifier is closed to any internacional team. Any swedish team (or other) can go to any qualifier, 1st place is qualified.. again, just a guess!

Really, didn't know that, so I guess then, if a team doesn't make their country's qualifier, then they can go to any other, but it's risky because it's expensive to go

Well it's a french lan so it's understandable, look at DH.sc2 there are way more swedish players than foreign. Btw, we till don't know if there won't be a swedish qualifier.
