fnatic to face Astana at TECHLABS

fnatic will be traveling to Kiev this weekend to take on Astana Dragons for a $3,000 first place prize and a spot in the TECHLABS finals in Moscow.

The single best-of-three series will feature a prize purse of $4,500, plus prizes from sponsors and a spot in the TECHLABS finals, to be held later this year in Moscow, Russia.

The two sides will face off against one another at a shopping mall loosely translated as DreamTown in the heart of Kiev on Saturday, August 31st. Estimated time for the match is 20:00 .

1. $3,000 + spot for TECHLABS final in Moscow
2. $1,500

Over at fnatic's website, the team's AWPer Jesper "jw" Wecksell has issued a statement regarding TECHLABS and Astana Dragons:

"Tomorrow we are traveling to Kiev to play a best-of-three against Astana Dragons, we are all very excited about this trip as it will be one hell of a test for us as a team.

"Astana Dragons may have not been showing the results that the community expected from them lately, but these are players you can't underestimate, especially not on LAN.

"I feel that we have been very strong lately and showed very good results online, so this trip is also something we do to be more prepared for Dreamhack Bucharest, which will be one of the toughest events this year.

"But we come in to this match-up with a lot of confidence and want to leave Kiev with a victory."

This match will be a chance for revenge for the Ukrainians, who lost against fnatic in their debut online 0-2 just over two weeks ago for Mad Catz Invitational.

Both NaVi and VP really had a decent momentum on NiP when they broke up (minus nuke for NaVi as always), now if they only could stick together. Especially Virtus Pro didnt lose many matches even online against any team wich is a huge deciding factor in CS: GO scene, so consistant alll over the place.. Exept from greatest individual skill CIS region pretty much has to offer, this is why ppls expecting AD to really stand out, otherwise everything basicly was for no reason, daT pressure for AD.. Well gl.

Wut? Never. Those crown shouts helped a bit but it happens everywhere. Have you seen Starcraft finals of ESWC? The Dreamhack when Carn commentates match and when goes to Fnatic and talk to them. That's a help.
