fm.TOXiC invited to ESWC

The Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) organisers have confirmed that fm.TOXiC have been invited to attend this year’s world finals.

The British team, who recently changed three players, passed their first test with flying colours as they came out on top of i49 in Telford just two weeks ago, defeating Reason Gaming in the final to pick up the first prize of €4,300.

fm.TOXiC were on Wednesday confirmed as UK’s representative at the ESWC finals, which means that there will not be a qualifier in this region after all.

nEILZINHo & co to fly fo Paris

Last year, the British side finished at the bottom of their group in Paris, with just one victory from four matches.

This was a UK invite, a UK team was ALWAYS going to be at ESWC be it via qualifier or invite. As no company / organisation was able to run a UK specific qualifier, the ESWC organisers decided the UK spot via application. This makes the argument for non-UK teams such as ESC pointless.

Um, you could also say that there was ALWAYS a Polish team at the ESWC, that Poland also has no qualifier and that the UK teams could have participated in the EU qualifier. Just saying.

No, we didn't get to play them at epic.lan, they was on the other side of the bracket and lost to Bindips Band of Merry Men and Dignitas. So we didn't get the chance to play em! They won iSeries though which is a bigger event, shame we couldn't attend and play em finally :P

Dignitas beat them yeah and we beat Dignitas in the final, maybe it did but if you look at it from ESWC's point of view they will see iSeries as the biggest UK LAN, even if we not every team attended, such as us, the winner of iSeries would have been invited.

Not sure what to base that on without qualifiers. TOXiC won i49, whilst myXMG won epic.ELEVEN, slight difference in attendance and calibre of teams. Personally I would have preferred qualifiers to determine who would go, but I'm guessing no one can afford the license.

I feel a little bit sick when I read your posts. This team is for sure not a top world class team, for sure. But they shouldnt get this much hate, beside it all, nEilzinho, PEZ and weber are three of the greatest CS:S players the british scene have produced...ALL TIME.

I agree with Brett i mean there the only stable team thats at the top of the UK imo. Im sure "For Example" there could have been a mix that could have beaten them but doesnt have strats/taktiks like FM toxic or / myXMG / CRG or even maybe infused have. But with time running down and teams wanting to prepare i believe they earned it & should have the spot

We've been together longer than toxic, we won epic lan and then after that LAN they formed a new team from the two that went epic (Dig + Toxic). They won iSeries though so they do deserve the invite just a shame we couldn't go iseries and play vs em!

The UK had a qualifier spot originally. This has now been retracted in favour of a UK invite. Hasn't made a difference to the original participant list. There would have been a UK side originally.
