fnatic to re-play overtime versus NiP

According to a post on Andreas "MODDII" Fridh's Facebook page, fnatic will be re-playing the overtime versus NiP due to "misunderstandings in overtime rules".

fnatic had just scored a major upset as they took down the world's number one team 21-16 on de_train_se after a battle that saw them win comfortably 6-1 in overtime.

Now shortly after celebrating their group win, apparently the two sides will have to re-play the overtime due to admins allowing the match to take place with maxrounds five ruleset.

fnatic's upset win is taken away in Bucharest

As DreamHack Bucharest rules state, the match should have taken place in maxrounds three, so the second half of overtime will be played from a 1-2 score, completely leaving out the final rounds.

Curiously this means the terrorist side rounds that fnatic won are completely discarded, even though they were able to take a 2-0 lead that would otherwise have clinched a 4-1 win for them.

srry for the reply but don't you guys think that it would have made much more sense if N!P would have paused the game after 3 rounds in 1st overtime and clarified the situation rather than waiting for the match to finish and after losing asking for replay, if N!P didn't ask for the replay then admins organizing the event are literally stupid.

Actually there was a situation in the third round which was supposed to be the last and NiP bought an extra awp which they would've done only if it was the final round of the half and then they had to play 2 more rounds... However if we remove those 2 rounds the T side was also won by fnatic 2-0 so they should leave it 4-1 victory for fnatic imo.

The overtimes consists of 2 stages (half-times) having 3 in-game rounds each and who have particular game settings (see Article 5.). The winner of the overtimes is the team that manage to win 4 in-game rounds. The winner of a match is the team that wins a total of two games.

When its a mr3, the game automaticly swaps you. It didnt swap so it was obviously configurated to be mr5, they kept playing until the end of it, protested after. I dont see anything wrong with it, and its not a matter of sportsmanship if you read gtr tweet for example. It was NiP manager fiskoo who protested and he had all the right to do so

Stop yourself. If they acknowledge the initial first 3 rounds of the first half, then they should arguably do the same for the second half. Round 4 and 5 of the first half never come into play in that regard. Either they accept both halfs initial scores, 1-2 and 0-2, or they replay the entire thing (although that wouldn't make much sense if sportsmanship is the primary thing).

I couldn't care less about which teams were involved. So we definitely agree on the admins to blame part. But the first rounds of the 2nd half were just as "right" as the first 3 rounds of the 1st half. Nothing affected them. No money situations, no ecos, nothing would have changed if it had been MR3 instead of MR5. So the score stands as much as the one from the 1st half. Arguably round 4 and 5 of the 1st half were the only affected rounds, NiP having to eco, and fnatic might having done things differently as well had they known it was MR3 and not MR5. So we know NiP played round 3 as it being MR3, but we don't know what fnatic did. That round might have been affected, but only in NiPs favour if any (fnatic might not have spend all the money they otherwise would have). But the admins are the incompetent party here, no doubt about that. Seemingly they're unqualified as per usual :/

Omg so many idiots! Admins asked if they could replay the OT it's not N!P initative! fnatics agreed so there will be a replay. But i think nip will probably show fair-play and give away victory to fnatics.

If Fnatic was in Nip's place, they would have done the same, any team would have done the same.they are professionals , they have their earnings from this. it is obvious though i think Fnatic should have shown some patience. swearing is not good for game.there is a saying in India -"if others are jumping in well that doesn't mean you should also jump in.
