Curse pull out of ESWC qualifier

Curse have abandoned the North American ESWC qualifier following the recent roster changes in the team.

Last week, Curse officially completed their roster with the addition of Stan "stan^" Sukachov and Keven "AZK" Lariviere, leaving Moe "moE" Assad, who had been playing for the team as a stand-in, out in the cold.

The tournament regulations state that a team cannot make roster changes half way through the competition, which meant that Curse would be disqualified unless Assad agreed to continue to play with them.

And it seems now that Assad was not interested in playing for a team who had just kicked him, as according to ESEA News the North American side have pulled out of the tournament.

No moE, no ESWC for Curse

This means Crucial Connexion will get a direct place in the semi-finals of the ESWC qualifier, where they will tackle BOuNce FlaSh.

The winner of the ESWC qualifier will be joined in Paris by compLexity, who secured the first North American spot by finishing in second place at the ESEA finals after beating Curse in the consolidation final.

I know people talk about the EU Scene being abit unstable, but take the Scale from EU and then compare it to US .. And then check how many times they changed .. it's sick ..

It's basically the same if not the fact that EU teams change players more often than NA teams. Every team in NA change a player every season, that's approximately every 6 months if a team isn't fucked up by sponsors. Tell me a team besides NiP and who's worth mentioning that didn't change a player in the last 3-6 months

Yes. They were fully aware of what they were doing, they stated that in public. They esentially said that DH Winter and MSI Beat It is more important for them then ESWC and made the roster change.

how so? msi = free trip to china + 2k. eswc = we pay our own way there which will be 10k+ USD for us which means even if we placed 1st we'd still probably lose money.

From my point of view, a good team should not only play for money but also think about achievements to earn a BIGGER money in the future. I just don't get Curse decision at this point. If you say its about the money, then why you were even bother playing on the qualifier in the first place against phatfish and BizCaj? just to get disqualified? Think about other NA team who'll do anything to fill Curse's spot for a chance to be in ESWC and now they were probably furious. but I guess you don't care as much. Getting disqualified means you were breaking the rules and its stupid because a team should know the rules before even playing the game. I never heard any team that would abandon by purpose a chance to win at one of the most prestigious international e-sports events of the year and be fine with it, seriously.

OK, let me break it down for you on Why Curse fails and ignored the basic rule of business according to Forbes? 1. You gotta have a clear vision and be consistent with it If you don't wanna do ESWC in the first place, then don't bother play in qualifier in the first place. Secondly, abandoning tournament and changing roster in the middle of qualifier? whats the point in all that? 2. You must have an ultimate goal and money should be the end, not the cause of the business you want to be in. Why only joining bigger prized events? Seriously if you guys can win a major event like ESWC, that certainly will lead for better 'business'. Meaning, better sponsorship, better support from the management. Look at NiP, for instance. They earn their title as #1 team in the world because the players also think about achievements and goals, not only for money. Im sorry but It looks like to me you're the one who don't understand business here. Good luck with Curse on MSI, you really need it.

1- Curse doesn't "fail" they are an NA Team that has to balance their budget wisely for EU events. 2- Curse also stated that they would only be able to attend 2 out of the 3 events (ESWC, MSI, DH Winter) due to budget limits. 3- There is nothing wrong with making a roster change early, and getting in more practise time with the real roster then staying with players who won't be on the team. They will be more prepared for the 2 events this way then they would have been otherwise. It's not such an easy decision. But they absolutely have valid reason to go ahead with the change.

Whats wrong with it? If you have to had the budget in order to play, thats even more ridiculous. By participating, they can get more fame, more fans and the most basic of all they get to play which can count as a pracc.

What are you blabbering about? how can you get fame from abandoning ESWC? By playing and winning more matches is the only way that they get more fans and fame.

Just as #42 stated that they probably wont go to paris even if they win the qualifier. But, you would OBVIOUSLY get fame if you win it, they cant help to abandon the qualifier since the rules are against them to change players. That aside, they have nothing to lose even if they play the qualifier without the intention to go to paris. So why shouldnt they? is it so hard to imagine that?

So you're saying its OK to be selfish, do whatever you want and nothing to lose? well, looks like someone needs to get smarter. Their budget issue they can't help indeed, but the final result is that they abandoned the tournament and get disqualified. Period. No matter what their excuses are, thats unprofessional and thats show lack of respect to the organization who held the event as well as to the other teams.

Selfish to what? I seriously dont understand your logic. They feel they need a change and the situation are against them so they are prepared to throw away the qualifier. Thats it. Learn to read smartass. Its moe who act like a bitch and deciding that his ego is more important than the event. And all your blabber about respect and unprofessionalism, is that supposed to be a joke?. Seriously, you really making such a big fuss over this boy.

Wow what a braindead. I think its better if you take that pill rather than me lol. So what if they changed the roster? Its something they feel that they need to do. Would you like to continue to play with someone you dont like? Curse is focusing on LoL division and they got picked up by Denial. Btw you doesnt answer any of my argument, if you still wanna continue this debate, I suggest you to reply with something with any relevancies to my post. Good day. ps: your joke about respect and professionalism is just made my day, thanks XD
