LGB beat SK for ESWC spot

LGB eSports have qualified for the ESWC finals after beating SK Gaming 2-1 in the grand final of the Swedish qualifier.

A total of eight teams took part in this online qualifier with hopes of joining Ninjas in Pyjamas, who had already assured themselves of a spot at the world finals as defending champions, and fnatic in Paris.

Before the start of the tournament, three teams seemed to have a head-start: SK Gaming, previously known as Lemondogs, n!faculty and LGB eSports.

There was a surprise right during the group stage as LGB finished ahead of SK in the group stage because of a better round difference as the match between the two Swedish teams finishd in a 15-15 draw.

Because of this, SK had to face n!faculty in the semi-final stage, with the former Lemondogs team running out 2-0 winners after 16-14 and 16-6 victories on de_nuke_se and de_dust2_se.

SK were now up against LGB once again, and the former Lemondogs team got off on the wrong foot, losing the first map, de_dust2_se, 12-16. Marcus "Delpan" Larsson's side then gave a good response and levelled the tie on one map by winning de_inferno_se 16-13, but LGB acquitted themselves really well on de_mirage_ce and picked up a 16-9 victory.

- dupreh is also a support player for CPH and he's sick, so that excuse of backup player isnt that valid.. - pita is an awesome player but he had less than half hours of his team mates and i think they quit playing online leagues because of him...so thats my point of view - xelos needs to be more consistent imo...

i think pita is going to quit in the near future due to work commitments. the most ideal thing would be to land pronax as he is the second best igl in sweden. or even better SK and n! to merge into 1 super team :) like pronax, twist, delpan, rdl and xelos.

Ah yes i think you are right. There are two more slots to win in the european online qualifiers i think. Since Sweden has his own national qualifier, I'm not sure if swedish teams are allowed to participate in the european ones. So not sure about that...
