Vox Eminor to attend DreamHack

Australian Vox Eminor will be attending the on-site BYOC qualifier for DreamHack Winter's main $250,000 SteelSeries Championship tournament.

The Australians most recently topped the Oceania MSI Beat it! qualification and will also be attending the $22,000 finals in Beijing on November 22-23rd, right before DreamHack Winter.

Now they've also announced their plans to attend DreamHack Winter, regardless of obtaining an invitation, as they have rented a house to stay in and will at least be trying their luck in the BYOC qualifier, should they not receive an invitation.

Vox Eminor after winning CGPL Season 1 (photo: Vox Eminor's Facebook)

The squad will be traveling directly from Beijing to Jönköping in order to save time, and it will also allow them three days between the events to bootcamp in Sweden to better prepare for DreamHack.

Vox Eminor have dominated the domestic scene with six wins so far in 2013, with three additional first place finishes in Australia in late 2012, since CS:GO took over as the tournament game.

Vox Eminor:

Australia Aaron "AZR" Ward
Australia Luke "Havoc" Paton
Australia Iain "Snyper" Turner
Australia Chad "Spunj" Burchill
Australia Azad "topguN" Orami

Vox Eminor will have their shot against international competition as they will be attending both MSI Beat it! and DreamHack Winter's BYOC qualifier in late November, marking their first trips overseas in CS:GO.

The team is mostly made out of 1.6ers so they probably wont achieve much. VG has already showed that CS:S'ers are superior now that they have adapted to the game. The 1.6ers coasted on their easymode similar game, not having to adapt at all, but now their easy time is over when the sourcers have adapted from the complex css to the basic cs:go.

When I visited Australia and played on a netcafe, my mates stated joining the servers and one of them actually had a decent 110 ping and didn't lagg at all. When google fiber and/or 5G hits both Europe and AU, it should be no problem.

Even at fibre's peak capacity you can't get sub 100ms latency to NA or EU from Straya. Not that we would want to play with you liberal faggots anyway.

from my experience a high ping sometimes doesn't always mean lagg, the games are build to compensate for it, from both clients and server. I remember playing DM with steel from brazil, he had a stable 200 ms, no lagg though, looked like he had a solid 5 - 20 ms. But how is AU less liberal than an EU country like sweden, germany or france?

You're asking if I'm a ten pound pom? EDIT: If the match is played on a server that is located in a country in the middle between AU and EU, both teams could potentially have sub 100 ms, right?

Although being 'nonamezzz' they still got enough money to pay more than $10,000 to go to an ecent in Sweden. You should at least show some respect and be happy about how far CS has come thanks to CSGO.

Australia's top team in the past was always at the level of say the lower CAL-i teams. Im guessing right now but they may be at the level of say fRoD/Storm/Warden's CSGO team... somewhere around there. Not quite able to match the top USA teams but close to their lower level top teams, if that makes sense ;)

I would guess that you are correct. Without any good teams to practice with people shouldn't be expecting much from these guys. Doesn't matter how much skill they might have, need good practice to get better. but that being said... i hope they produce some upsets.

Australia tomliner
I wouldn't say AUS has been stomped in the past, always been almost good enough to beat top teams but just not quite. I used to cash in big time with xlbet giving the Aussie teams handicaps of +10 rounds. I believe the skill level of top AUS is closer to top NA than people will think. Time shall tell though Will be interesting to see how voxe go overseas, judging by the lack of time between events and the lack of boot camp I'm not holding my breath. Been awhile since watching Aussies overseas in cs so should be good to view.

Yea Aussies were never bad per say but they never did anything substantial as well. I still remember Davio and Kurandus winning rounds single handedly in certain matches. Anyways Gl to the CS:GO team going to DH.

Maybe my choice of word wasn't quite right. It was more pertaining to the fact that they never really won anything, as you mention yourself. Nevertheless, I always find it fun to watch new teams, so a best of luck to them from here!

There's only 3-4 NZ teams that play competitively and are no where near the level of VOX, maybe the old Converge with the all NZ line-up but that's about it. If the old px made a comeback then they'd definitely be able to compete after a lot of practice but other than that there's no way anything good will ever come out of NZ again :(

Because they're actually good. VoxE have sick tactics, which can be quite different from the EU tactics that we are used to. Also, afaik, AUS teams follow the EU scene, but most EU teams dob't follow the AUS scene, meaning that they could possibly surprise tacticwise.
