VG over NiP to win RC EMS One Finals

VeryGames came from behind to beat Ninjas in Pyjamas 2-1 (5-16 de_nuke, 16-14 de_cache, 16-6 de_inferno) and defend their RaidCall EMS One championship.

VeryGames started the grand final by winning the all important terrorist side pistol round, and impressively lost zero members on the next rounds as they went up 3-0.

Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson's double gave NiP their first round, and NiP easily shut down VeryGames' upper attack next. One more loss tied the game, and VG's save gave NiP a 4-3 lead.

Another quick CT win made it 5-3 before a triple by Nathan "NBK" Schmitt gave VeryGames their first weapon round, which was followed by another round win in lower.

Now tied at five rounds each, NiP won a crucial weak buy and then Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux ran out of time in a one-on-two, giving NiP some momentum again.

The Swedes used that momentum to win the final two rounds as Schmitt's one-on-three attempt was lost after two kills, and Johansson's double secured a 10-5 half.

NiP evened things out in the pistol department by winning the pistol round as well, and winning VG's two consecutive save rounds put them ahead 13-5.

An attack towards the lower site broke VeryGames' defense on the fourth round, and after a save round the French-Belgians were facing a 5-15 deficit and ten map points.

With Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund left alone in a one-on-four it looked like Schmitt & co would finally get on board, but the Swede won the round and secured NiP a 16-5 win.

NiP take the lead in the series

VeryGames won the opening pistol round again on de_cache, and only lost one member as they went up 2-0. Friberg then got an entry into B, but Benrlitom's triple made it 3-0.

After a save NiP trailed 0-4, and Alesund couldn't convert a one-on-three into a win on the following round. The Swedes then attempted a slow strat through vents, but once again got mowed down to make it 0-6.

Ninjas in Pyjamas then took over the B site with Kèvin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans choosing to save his gun in a one-on-three. The save worked, and VeryGames shut down NiP next, making it 7-1 with NiP on a save.

NiP then reduced the deficit to 7-2, but they kept struggling to get those much-needed entry kills, a situation that continuously left them outnumbered as the rounds wore on. As such, they were making things very easy for VG, who picked up a commanding lead of 12-3.

The Swedish side then won the pistol round and the following two rounds to keep themselves in the game, reminding VG that they were not letting it go. NiP managed to string a couple of rounds together, eventually making it 8-12 after a three-kill round from Richard “Xizt” Landström.

The following round then went to VeryGames, courtesy of Edouard “SmithZz” Dubourdeaux, who won a 1-on-2 situation. Rounds kept going back and forth here, and with the score set at 13-10 in favour of VG it was pure madness: it looked like the French side had the round lost after a failed entry into the b site, but then Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom pulled off three headshots out of nowhere to keep the team’s hopes alives. Dubourdeaux won the 1-on-1 against Adam "friberg" Friberg to put VG just two rounds away from victory.

Surprisingly, NiP were able to pick themselves up and take the game to the very last round, where VG kicked things off with a quick rush onto the B site, with lots of casualties from both sides. Landström, who was alone against two opponents, still got one kill but then Droolans sealed the deal to give VG a 16-14 victory.

shox and NBK were on fire, as usual

Map three, de_inferno, began with NiP starting out the brighter and win the first three rounds. VG then made it 1-3, and then Nathan "NBK" Schmitt, who was low on cash, bought a shotgun and went on a tour around the map, eventually getting NiP's players by behind. He killed two players and then picked up a proper gun, eventually getting a third, which was just what VG needed to win the round.

Things were not looking good for NiP, who were being outaimed by VG on all fronts. an example of that is the eighth round: Friberg lands the entry kill on the B bomsite, but then Kèvin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans gets himself two kills through the smoke and a third one with a P250 to give his team-mates plenty of time to rotate and finish off the round.

With the score 5-3 in favour of VeryGames, Nathan "NBK" Schmitt brought us another moment of brilliance and picked up three kills in quick succession on the A bombsite to keep his team in the driving seat.

VG were, for most of the first half, the commanding side, and if NiP managed to get the last two rounds they will have Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg to thank, as the former 1.6 talent showed all his talent, picking up an ace in the last round to keep the Swedes in the race as they were now trailing by just five rounds.

But things quickly went sour for NiP, who lost the first two rounds. It seemed like the third round would go to NiP after Lindberg had picked up three kills with the Desert Eagle, but Richard "shox" Papillon won the 1-on-2 situation to deny NiP the chance to come back. That moment really struck the Swedish team, who never really found their feet again, allowing VG to cruise to a 16-6 victory and retain the RaidCall EMS One title.

it's impossible to tell, they have to be burned out to an extent too its the fall of every NiP team... realizing you're the best when you are and not preparing for the raise in the level of competition that will come as more ppl put more time into the game

I remember friberg in an interview, in the early days of the NiP team. He said something according to this "When we stop practicing cause we think we are best, we will lose." Afterwards, he then said that they would never stop practise, cause then they would be able to always be the best. Anyways, yeah. Impossible to tell. I'd say, with everything going on in their lives a persons and a team, they got a lot on their minds.

still, it's hard to innovate and come up with new strats if everything you do is working... it used to be a "close game" if anyone got more than 5/6 rounds on NiP in a way, even though they were way above everyone else at the beginning it kept them from progressing any further because they were just too damn good at the time

Final Score: NiP 36-37 VG (rounds) Are you guys BLIND???????????????? NiP is clearly superior than VG, in every single way. NiP lost because they they did not practice much on cache. And they are absolutely right, de_cache is a competely random, retarded and useless map. VG never did, and never will, win NiP in a bo3 in classical maps. That is a fact you all need to know.

i think one thing did make the inferno match much easier for vp, and that being the shit deagle in csgo, that one round where forest went off and was in a 1v1 and his crosshair was on the guys head after 3 shots and all of them went everywhere but where he aimed. they should make that thing more accurate or just take it out. That round allowed vg to stay in control on t side, if that didnt happen nip would have won that round and most likely the next as it would have been an eco for vg and who knows if that would have still been a VG victory. rip 1.6 deag

Valve give us the COMPLETE DETAILS about EVERY GUN. So stop crying because it's not valves fault why forest not hitting his shot even though he aim correct. You know the RECOIL, right? And WE know already that CSGO DEAGLE got that super high recoil so it's UP TO US if how we control it. And deal with it because THIS IS NOT CS 1.6 or CSS. This is CSGO. NEW GAME!

In few rounds earlier f0rest made a triple kill with dgl ? It isn't that its recoil allowed VG to avoid losing this round. I havent played this weapon that much but there is one thing I noticed about dgl : you have to stand still, almost like in awp. It isn't like in 1.6 anymore when you could move and still frag. Thats why f0rest lost this round - in a situation he had to move he had worse accuracy. And back to the match : I think it was VG who leveld up their game on last 2 maps that made difference. I couldn't belive how easy they gave Nuke after such a opening. The game was so close that you can't really say Vg is now best or NiP either. On the next day another team could win. And that's what we all wanted for so long time now. CS:GO actually getting interesting if result is unknown for these two. And also other teams are steeping up : fntic overtime with VG, US pretty close on beating VG on Inferno and NiP losing to CPH after sick comeback. One think is clear now : DHWinter will be amazing with this prize pool and teams so equal to each other as nowadays.

The weapon is good fine. It has a high risk, high reward feature about it. Either you hit the shoots and can win a whole round from a good 1 or 2 headshots. Oooor, you just die. It ain't broken. It is a strategy to buy it.

That's hilarious because you seem to be the blind man in this story ^^. First NiP fanboys said that VG will never be able to make a close map against NiP. Then they said that they will never be able to win a single map. Then a tournament with NiP in the competition. Then a Bo3. Then a grand final. They proved you wrong every single time. Do you really feel the need to be embarrassed that much ? So here is a fact that YOU need to know, since you seem to be blind : NiP lost to VG. Not once, not twice, three times. And it's not the last time either. That's plain, simple, and the last thing great champions like Get_Right and f0rest need are crying babies trying to justify their losses because they don't know what supporting a team means. Reality is waiting for you downstairs. I'll see you there.

Hope that GTR and f0rest can support the team this time when they're losing and bounce back ASAP. And if they can't support, expect the members changing or organization change soon ;)

Every time NiP is losing, Brazilian fans is crying and putting some stupid comments that NiP is still better that VG in the event we're VG is CHAMP. No offense man, but after 1.5 year your team didn't do shit. Also, you might consider the fact that VG won their first international tournament (Madcatz Birmingham) in early april, which makes approximately 8 months after the beginning of the scene.

Their results in online games. They've lost to teams they shouldn't have and have dropped maps in bo3s that again, they really shouldn't have as the supposedly strongest, if not then top-ranking team.

...yeah right. As if NiP hadn't lost to teams they shouldn't have. Or any other team, for that matter. Sure, they are better on LAN. So ? Good for them, better that than the opposite right ? There are teams that have troubles on LAN but do great online. Also, since online is a lot more random, there is no reason for them not to lose from time to time to underdogs. Finally, even without this, upsets happen. We saw that time and time again. VG is no exception.

Well, looks like my standards are higher than yours. My definition of a "consistent" team is a team that has the same results in every one of their games, e.g. 2-0 every bo3, online or LAN. My definition of a "top team" or "strongest team" is one that wins every single one of their games. NiP was very close to doing this prior to their losing streaks against Virtuspro at StarSeries V. Also, online isn't "random"; there are some factors that may affect results (e.g. shoxie's ping) but a good team should win in any situation, online or LAN.

Dude, it's not standards anymore you're talking about... And honestly, the ones you're presenting are ridiculous. Why ? Because you're applying that to humans... Did I just saw you mean "NiP was very close to being the strongest team" ?! Because if it was, that must be the most incredibly delusional thing I've ever seen on HLTV. And I've seen a lot. So you're basically saying : "nah, 87-0-0 on LAN isn't really enough to make them the strongest". Of course they ended up losing, because THAT'S WHAT HUMANS DO ! They are not perfect and never will be ! So now, no they are not the strongest team anymore, maybe they'll be back in their spot some day, we'll see. And you're completely wrong about consistency. If you want you can have a look at the definition, but consistency is surely not perfection. So no, a team doesn't need to make 2-0 in every Bo3 or any crap like that to be called consistent. Consistency has certain degrees, and VG have proved by their results that they are the most consistent team (online or LAN alike) in the world along with NiP. Anyone stating the opposite would have to back it up with serious and numerous FACTS to be credible...

Well yes you did, that's basically what you explained in your "standards". "Your" definition ? xD I guess this explains it then. Whatever man, you can try to bend the meaning of words as much as you like. I don't mind. It's just that you'll probably have troubles communicating on certain topics by doing so ^^.

No, you're missing the point. I never said that I'm expecting a team to be consistent/perfect/etc. I simply explained my definition of it. If you think I'm saying so, then you should read my entire reply again or stop replying, because you're failing to understand shit. I'm not bending the meaning of words. A team that is consistent is "unchanging in achievement or effect over a period of time; unchanging" (source: Oxford Dictionary). If a team loses or drops maps sometimes that's not being consistent.

You can explain "your definition" as much as you want, but that doesn't change the fact that VG are the most consistent team right now. And even if I take your point, they are not 100% consistent (and nobody will ever be), they are maybe 85% consistent, but still the most consistent, because everybody else is even less consistent.

I'm not trying to read word by word and take the literal definition. Yes, I was incorrect, imonoz wrote that originally, but my point was "VG is inconsistent online". Okay, they're the most consistent team on LAN, I was wrong. But not online, and that was the message I was trying to get across.

lmao. Dude you have serious troubles understanding written texts. You really made my day with your trololo, which is good because it wasn't starting well (my day) ^^. So thank you for that. I never said, or meant "VG is pretty much consistent against anyone". First of all because they are not consistent against NiP. And then because there are teams that they didn't face enough to be able to define a consistency against those. There also may be teams against which they didn't perform consistently, I would need to go check VG's stats to know which ones, and I don't really have the time to do it right now. I did say, however, that VG was the most consistent team in the world (along with NiP). In other words we take the GLOBAL consistency rate for international tournaments results to compare the teams.

NiP on LAN until their losses at StarSeries V. Same scores for every one of their games - 0 losses. Or any team that has lost every single one of their games. Same results = unchanging = consistent.

Yeah, so that's exactly what I thought. What you're describing is not consistency (well it's part of consistency, but you don't need to have exact same results to be called consistent). If you doubt it, I suggest you have a look at other sports than CS, and listen to sport analysts. Consistency is used a lot to rank players or teams, and they don't need "absolutely unchanging results" to use the adjective consistent.

I'm not doubting that. I've been trying to tell you that the way I see it is that consistency has to be the exact same results. Yes, maybe it's not the accepted definition, maybe it's ridiculous of me. But in the same way my definition of "doing well on a test" means a grade higher than 97%, "consistency" for me has to mean the same results. Let's just leave it at that, no point in arguing any further.

Definitions are made so everyone can understand each other. Sure, no one can force you to give a proper meaning to a word, but you'll have a lot of troubles in your discussions with others if you persist in sticking with your version of a word instead of the standard definition. Anyway, the discussion reached its end I guess. Good evening to you.

No, 100% consistency means same results. If VG is winning a lot of their games, e.g. bo3s 2-0, then 100% consistency would be winning ALL of their games 2-0.

If they won all of their games 2-1 or lost all of their individual maps with scores like 13-16 and 14-16, that would also be consistent. It's because much of their results are 2-0 (in the case of bo3's) that they would only be consistent if they won all of their games like so.

So, having watched the final I think it's safe to say that having more CS:Source players in your team will increase your chances of winning. The natural conclusion from this is that Source players have superior aim and game knowledge to 1.6 players. For NiP to be able to compete in the future, Fifflaren and Friberg need to replace Xizt and possibly one of GTR/f0rest with some of their source mates.

Wauw. Just wauw. I can tell you that, if anything, it will be Fiff leaving. He stated he is soon getting too old for it and may not be around for very long. While he is 26, soon 27, the rest i 24 down to 19, if I recall correctly.

Great tournament and well deserved victory for VeryGames. Anyway, hands down to the tournament organizers. This is by far the best tournament I've ever watched with many great features. Map veto, statistics during the game etc, all great additions for the viewers. Keep it up!

I have to say I think they are on the same level, both teams could annihilate the other on almost every map, and vice versa. If you ask me it comes down to if the "star players" step up or not. If Shox and/or ScreaM is on a roll, they're almost unstoppable, and the same thing goes for GeT_RiGht and f0rest. Anyhow, great play by both teams, could've gone either way! Looking forward to Dreamhack Winter!

I'm really not, but due to the fact he's that consistent it becomes more obvious that ScreaM and/or Shox has to step up to make those kind of big plays you need to do to defeat NiP.

It's all or nothing with their current lineup. They're too far in to change it, it just doesn't work like that. You can't just kick fif and put in a new member that might be better individually.

What's wrong with saying a team is good ? I mean I don't have NiP in my heart, but I really like watching them play and when they are good I don't mind saying it.

"13-10 in favour of VG it was pure madness: it looked like the French side had the round lost after a failed entry into the b site, but then Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom pulled off three headshots out of nowhere to keep the team’s hopes alives. Dubourdeaux won the 1-on-1 against Adam "friberg" Friberg to put VG just two rounds away from victory." it was Papillon and it was 1-on-2 actually..

Fifflaren needs to step up. If something like this happens at Dreamhack (NiP losing in a somewhat close BO3 with everyone with regular or good stats except him with terrible stats) he will be most likely out. You don't have to be the star or at top of the scoreboard, but had he played cache on a regular level they would've won. Moreover, he was barely noticeable on de_inferno.

He carried NiP against mouz though. 30-9. He just needs MODDII's gear, he started being bad again when he stopped using the gear he borrowed from MODDII :D

Not taking anything away from him but you can't compare mouz to VG. Don't gent me wrong, I don't think Fifflaren is terrible, that's why he can perform good/great against some teams. But he hasn't been performing like a top 3 team player lately. I mean, he can do great against mouz, but when he has to face the likes of shox, NBK, ScreaM (great players) he can't do much. He loses most of the 1 vs 1 aim situations because they are far better. That's why he struggles in big games (against big opponents which all seem to have better aim/skill).

Well, he is one old guy. Soon 27. The reactions are getting slower by his age. :P Anyways, as I said previosuly furhter up in the comments, Fiff has stated that he may not be around for too long and may retire at some point, when he is 27. He will not seek to be part of eSports afterwards.

WTF so much to say 1. 45.000+ viewers 2. great prize for "minor" LAN (35.000) 3. NiP dethroned 4. Joe Miller, Anders , NBK , Pansy & especially ReDeYe was AWESOME. 5. as a saucer (VG) fan im not sure if VG is #1. * NiP Lost 2 EMS Finals, SLTV , they'll not attend to ESEA and MSI Beat It. if VG won ESWC, for me they will be TOP1 CSGO team. (OK OK its DHW, but too many looses in a row for NiP) 6. csgo is growing! 7. Actually 4 teams on their best can be top1. (Astana Dragons, NiP , Verygames , CPH Wolves) *following teams like coL,US,iBUYPOWER,Fnatic,SK.Gaming,NaVi etc etc EDIT: Great job, Great tournament , Great matches

Fifflaren is just low, and ex6tenz has been stepping up quite well, imo the skillwise difference between VGand NiP is really high, since all VG players are performing good and nip plays mostly with 3, because i dont think friber and fifflaren can play at this level when the teams are getting closer.

I really think EMS did a great event, almost no delays, very nice casting and the small i-views with wining team after, plus the analyzing after each map with stats etc etc. And super well played by VG and congratz :P NiP should really get a great awp player instead of letting f0rest using it, not that he is bad with it, but rather want to see him as an rifler :P Edit: Oh yeah and i think US was playing really good aswell, seems like TaZ is much more happy and same with neo. They just gotta keep pracc'ing.

All of VG played like Bosses and loved pros do. -Smithzz da Baus -Ex6tenz das Baus -Shox da Baus -NBK da Baus -Scream da Baus and the nip boys also ofcourse, but don't be mad that i grant a hard working team like saucebaus power VG those earned wins. we all like NIP, but nip have won everything you can over a year, so such a change in the scene is just welcome. if i wanna know a resultoutcome before i watch the sports i just can watch klitschko fights you know but esports have to stay exciting.

i don't really know why everyone reacts this way. VG won 1 more round than NiP in total. to me both teams are just equal. nip destroyed vg on de_nuke, vg destroyed nip on de_inferno and cache was pretty much equal. it is logical for nip to lose momentum and motivation. It used to happen for 12 years before cs:go, teams rise and fall, and it is happening right now. NiP total domination is over. And thats good because the game became more interesting right now that we have 3 very strong teams (astana dragons, nip and verygames) and also Copenhagen Wolves that showed great potential today. and also up and coming teams like US, SK, fnatic, coL and others. good game by VG but there's nothing more to analyze about this game

Well I'm saying of any tournament/league/match that they want to write a 10 paragraph recap about. If they enjoy writing these, more power to them, but I wanna see the action, it's hard for me to get excited over reading match highlights.

Dat troll man, so hairy. They didn't steal anyone, Shoxie wasn't in any team, and it was ScreaM's own decision, which was the best thing that could happen to him given his experience at the time. He has grown so much in VG, and I think he has still unveiled potential left. Sweden has more talented players in CS than any other country. Your excuse is the worse you could have come up with.

Awsome tournament. The only thing that i didn't like was the quality of the stream. I'm having like 50 in, and 30 out and it still lagged at medium... GG VeryGames. I'm a onepointsixer, but the CT play by VG is off the charts.

I wondering if it will be possible to have streams that use youtube like the LOL international. As it seemed far superior, at least for my internet and location!

>> it looked like the French side had the round lost after a failed entry into the b site, but then Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom pulled off three headshots out of nowhere to keep the team’s hopes alives. Dubourdeaux won the 1-on-1 against Adam "friberg" Friberg to put VG just two rounds away from victory. pretty sure it was A site, and shoxie won 1-on-1 against friberg

Let's see what will happen at ESWC this week. If NiP wins ESWC, everything is "normal" again. Well played VG at EMS! :)

The main problem for NiP is not especially Fifflaren as a player, the problem for NiP is that: Because Fifflaren sucks with awp,f0rest need to play on some maps with the awp(not that he is not good with the awp,tbh he is pretty damn amaizing with the awp too, maybe top10 awp) , but f0rest is much better with the riflers. In my opinion NiP really need a stable awp player to let f0rest to make his job and for this is only one option: kick the weakest player and add a strong awp,so > -fifflaren +Delpan.
