krL returns in Rampage

Former VeryGames captain Sebastien "krL" Perez has put together a new team called Rampage.

Perez is mostly famous for the period in which he captained the "classic" VeryGames roster which at one point dominated the European CS:Source scene.

Earlier in the year, he tried his luck in CS:GO, first with Nameless and then with broth3rhood, but both projects failed to live up to the hype and were short lived.

The French veteran has now assembled a team new called Rampage, with Alexandre "bistouflyy" Lebozec being the only player who joins him from the last two teams.

As with Nameless and broth3hoord, has surrounded himself with former CS:Source players: Karim "krumpze" Ben Amor (redface), Allan "enk1or" Lopez (eLogic) and Morgan "B1GGY" Madour (PyRoGen).

"I want to compete again, so I picked up the best players I could to reach the top as quickly as possible,” Perez told HLTV.org.

"We will attend several French LANs at the beginning of 2014 and maybe an international event too, if we find an organisation.

"If I am able to get the best out of my players like I did in the past, we can reach the top two in France."

Rampage now have the following lineup:

France Sebastien "krL" Perez
France Alexandre "bistouflyy" Lebozec
Switzerland Karim "krumpze" Ben Amor
France Allan "enk1or" Lopez
France Morgan "B1GGY" Madour

Its the 10th announcement about krl doing his come back but : 1- most of the pple here come from 1.6 and don't know / don't care about him 2- his teams usually last 2 week and then disband. Therefore I suggest that you shouldn't give him the plaisure to comment any of his moves before he proves again that he deserves it.

Maybe, but then the Danish teams seems to have so many good players in general, whereas French scene has good leaders/teams. Sweden just seems to stomp everyone atm.

Not so sure about that. I'm still waiting for a top French team (besides VG ofc) to really challenge the top teams on international events. We all know that Clan-Mystik and WeGotGame have potential, but they have yet to prove themselves at this level of play. I'm not even talking about Rampage, these guys have a long road ahead of them. But the French scene is not bad at all, that's for sure.

How many danish teams currently challenge the top teams ? Only CW really and even then they aren't exactly on VG's level. Clan-mystik look like they could do some serious damage at ESWC tbh.

This will be their first international lan i believe ? And they've already shown they can compete/beat VG.. what Danish teams can do that ? At this moment the French scene is stronger than the Danish scene, that's more of a fact than an opinion really.

If you rely on potential to state that, sure. I don't. I rely on results. Beating VG or competing with them doesn't prove much (yet), for two reasons : 1. CM is from the French scene, they study VG in every possible detail, probably more than VG studied NiP in the past, and that's something. Meanwhile, VG doesn't take the time to practice much against French teams, so they don't really know what to expect. 2. CM have some experienced players on international level, but as a team they are fresh, being up to the expectations is tougher than just thinking you are. If you look at how fast LDLC grew and then quickly lost steam, it's not something to be taken lightly. We'll see. I'd really like to have a new top French team doing damage on the international scene. I'm just waiting for either CM or WGG to prove that they can.

I think your missing my entire point lol.. im only saying that the french scene is stronger than the danish scene atm. Everything you said can easily be applied to any of the top danish teams, the only difference is that the french have VG.

And Denmark has CPW. Basically, you're saying that if a country has ONE top international team, and another country has ONE top international team, you would compare the strength of their scene based on the performances of these two teams ? Well that doesn't make a lot of sense to rate a whole scene based on the results of only one team does it ? Why do we say that the Swedish scene is the strongest ? Because they had and still have many talented players, many good organizations, and many teams which can compete on an international level. If they had only NiP, even with an 87-0-0 record, it wouldn't make them the strongest scene. Take tennis for example. Switzerland has two top players. Federer and Wawrinka. They both did amazingly well during they career, and still are. Back in the days when Federer was owning everyone single handedly (literally xD), would you rate Switzerland the best country in the world in tennis ? I don't think so. Spain however, can be considered a great nation in tennis. Why ? Because they had and still have many talented players who reached the top, won grand slams (the most famous being Nadal, but there are several others). Not just a few. I hope this analogy made my point clear enough. Sorry if you're not into tennis :p. Therefore, at the moment I kind of rate France scene and Denmark scene on the same level. Even if I would have to give a small advantage to France, since VG is doing very well AND the other teams seem to be more active than the danish ones. For now. Just a few months back it was the complete opposite. But they are clearly not "much stronger", as suggested drezzing. In my opinion of course.

You're probably right in that they aren't much stronger. Its a shame the other french teams don't go to more lans because they've some great players in their top 5 teams, im sure they could compete with most teams outside of the top 3 or 4. I just always found it funny how people hyped up the danish scene a few months ago saying they had all these great teams.. just never really seen any of them bar WW do anything decent on lan and even they underachieved more than not when they attended international lans.

Well, maybe it was hyped up a bit, but there was definitely potential in the old CPHW, and WW was quite successful for a time. There was also the danish fnatic, with his fans always waiting for them to step up their game. I understand why it would get a bit hyped up. But so is the current French scene in my opinion. When LDLC started make results everyone started to make statements as them being better than VG, the next ones to beat NiP, etc... They tried hard but in the end they were out of gas and out in the open, if you don't mind my saying. It felt a lot on their game during EMS Raidcall Summer. In the end they disbanded. Meanwhile Clan-Mystik was trying out their chance at DH Valencia, where all top teams wouldn't attend because of the schedule overlapping with other tournaments more interesting money wise. And they didn't manage to win it. What I mean is that people are having big hopes on French teams now because of VG's success, but it doesn't mean it will necessarily pay off. It's kind of unnecessary to hype up a scene.
