ALTERNATE send UBINITED packing

ESWC champions UBINITED have been denied the chance to defend their crown after suffering a 2-0 defeat against ALTERNATE in the semi-finals.

The North American side, who recruited Diane "di^" Tran just weeks before the ESWC finals, had finished second in the group following a draw against Lions and a defeat at the hands of Mistral, meaning they had to tackle ALTERNATE, the winner of the other group, in the semi-final stage.

These two teams have a lot of history, with UBINITED winning last year's event in dramatic fashion against ALTERNATE after losing the first map.

This year, however, albeit close, the match was a lot different, with ALTERNATE posting a 2-0 victory (16-13 win on de_nuke, 16-12 on de_dust2).

In the grand final of the female tournament, which will be played on Saturday at 09:30 , ALTERNATE will tackle Druidz, who beat Mistral 2-0 in the other semi-final contest.

Still impressive how close the match was. Ubinited had their last official match in 2012 against Alternate in ESWC Finals. Alternate playing all year long and they are just bad compared to the US girls. A deserved win but sad for the US girls. They deserve it more in my opinion. Druidz won't be a walk over for Alternate, wouldn't be surprised if they gonna lose the ESWC once again :)

They surely didn't played all year long together. There was a statement where shushu said she is no longer part of Alternate. Few weeks/months later she made comeback to Alternate so during this substitution they were playing in another line-up. I wouldn't be surprised if any other girls changed in Alternate since last year, but unfortunatelly I have no clue what is going on in female scene. edit: bad englando
