CPH Wolves add Nico, device

Copenhagen Wolves have announced that they have revamped their squad with the additions of Nicolaj "Nico" Jensen and Nicolai "device" Reedtz.

The news comes just 48 hours after Copenhagen Wolves were eliminated from ESWC in the quarter-finals following a 2-0 defeat against Astana Dragons, a match in which the Danish side simply came short against the CIS-based team.

Despite the fact that CPH Wolves have been in dominant form in domestic tournaments, the same cannot be said about international competitions as the Danish team are still struggling to break into the top five in the world.

Nico replaces Friis as CPH Wolves' AWPer

To breathe some life into the team, CPH Wolves have now decided to part ways with two of players, Jacob "Pimp" Winneche, who had been recruited in September, and Michael "Friis" Jørgensen.

Joining in are two players who have already donned CPH Wolves' colours in the past: Nicolaj "Nico" Jensen, who returns to activity following a three-month break, and Nicolai "device" Reedtz.

"I'm back! I'm very happy to be given the opportunity to play for Copenhagen Wolves once again," Jensen said.

"I have the utmost respect for the management and players within. I am looking forward to conquering DreamHack Winter. I will put in a lot of effort to get back in shape for the upcoming events.

"I believe we have a lot of potential with this lineup and hopefully we will be able to show that within the next couple of months."

Contacted by HLTV.org on his exit from the team, Jacob "Pimp" Winneche gave the following statement:

"Well today is a sad day really. I feel let down about a lot of things that will probably take way too long to explain in a short message like this.

"Honestly, I never felt good in his team, at least ingame. The playing style in CPH Wolves is so different from that of Western Wolves. The way that gla1ve called tactics is just the opposite from the way FeTish does, and I am not used to it.

"I never felt this was my style. I understand why they made this decision. I am sorry that it had to be like this and that I bailed on some mates, maybe I should not have done it, but that is how it is.

"I wish CPH Wolves good luck and I hope I will be back soon."

Later this week, Nicolai "device" Reedtz will post a blog on HLTV.org about his return to activity and the team's prospects for the future.

Was good? He played two lan tournaments for CPH and on both he was underperforming. Having a K/D of 0.85 and 0.76. He isn't the player he was, neither is Friis the player he was in 1.6. This lineup is great for them! :)

"What to do now? I've been thinking some thoughts on why Danish BASED team has never been the dominant factor over longer periods. It is due to the incredible bad mentality that is on the teams. There is no stability, there are of course exceptions everywhere, MTW is a good example that it can actually work to be good at stability even though you may not have the 5 best individual players on the same team. But where is the respect for each other and the things you agree on? It does not exist in the amount of Danish players are on the scene now. If I have the game and have the motivation to be one of the best again. Do I have on a team where one can trust each other outside the game. Getting results in the game. he's an idiot. mTw at their peak probably had the 5 best players on the same team. Friis missed an unacceptable number of shots and has never been good with the AWP after 1.6. Other players would have made those shots.

Well, MIRAA was talking about a top 5 list, hence the "top 5 in the world". But I don't know if I'd agree or disagree. I think MIRAA put it right. CPH Wolves have shown they are just at the edge of top 5 teams in the world. Whether they are 5th or 6th, probly can't be determined. The "Break into" probly means they don't quite have the level yet, they don't look like the teams in the top 5, even if they are a part of it. I hope that explains it.

They've been consistently putting up fights against Verygames, and proved that they weren't only exploiting VG's weakness against French teams by beating Astana Dragons. They're good, but I'm still confused as to how they tied with complexity.

Friis is a great player, but his style is not suited for CSGO where defensive players are at a disadvantage. This was further exacerbated by the fact CPH gave him the shittiest role. He was always stuck carrying the bomb and had to play even more passive/defensive.

Although it's hard to say what goes on behind the scenes, and why people choose to retire and then return shortly after, I'm kind of sad that this team has become somewhat of a joke, with roster changes every few weeks. I don't think it's fair to Friis and Pimp how things have turned out, and to be honest I'm not that confident that Nico and Device will be in it for the long run (given that they recently retired simply to return shortly after - what's that about???). That being said, I do believe that this new roster is stronger than before, assuming that Nico and Device have been upholding their form. Now I just hope for some stability and continuity on the team with NO MORE ROSTER CHANGES COMING UP! As a fan I'm hoping for the best, but I can understand why others might see this team as a joke given the constant roster changes. Best of luck to both Friis and Pimp

I wish the old and original Western Wolves lineup would get back together. They did some great things during the time that they spent together. They placed top 5 at multiple tournaments if I can remember correctly and what, took down NiP 16-2 in the group stage of a fairly big tournament? Anyways, I just wish players would give lineups a chance for months and maybe even longer, not switch them up after an event or two, or something like that. It's just the typical "I wish this and that" thing. Good luck to every player though! I hope the CSGO scene gets bigger, better, and becomes more diverse in terms of the teams who win tournaments and such.

pimp, cajunb, wantz, friis and gla1ve not 3k2 :P gla1ve as IGL, cajun, wantz and pimp can madfrag, and as pimp said he likes the way gla1ve is calling it ingame. I think that would be a great lineup! :D

cajunb might be even worse then device, as cajunb is a folding machine, he always leave teams etc. Device had some problems with players the last time, I think one of them was friis, and one more, but he might just give it another shot.

Friis needs to work on his mental game to get back on top. Has all the skills of a top player, but you can tell it really gets to him when he misses some easy shots or clutch rounds. GL Friis.

Same old story, the team won't place well, then probably remove the players they just added and bring back some players they removed a few months ago. The fact that the best teams are the stable teams seems to be lost on CPHW.

Hope device will stay this time and not leave after a month and then do a comeback 2 months later and then quit and then comeback.. If they stick together they can be really dangerous, but i still think they would be better with gla1ve instead of fetish.. btw, is friis retireing? sad that he haven't reached the same level as he had in 1.6.. he was so awesome back then.
