AIm joins k1ck
k1ck eSports Club have announced that they have completed their squad with the addition of Ricardo "AIm" Almeida.
The Portuguese giants had been on the lookout for a new fifth player after losing Hélder "coachi" Sancho to retirement earlier in the day, with the decision coming in the aftermath of the team's group exit at ESWC.
After it was rumoured that k1ck had turned to Almeida to fill Sancho's shoes, the Portuguese organisation have now confirmed the move on their official website.
Almeida, who comes from the 1.6 scene, played for teams like Defs and GTZ before switching to CS:GO and captaining SteelShock and Pirates.
"It is with a bit of sadness that I see this change, but when it comes to personal issues we have to respect those decisions,” Ricardo “fox” Pacheco told k1ck’s website.
"Coachi asked me two or three weeks ago if we could take someone to ESWC instead of him because he would have to stop playing to focus on his studies, which really drained our motivation before such a big tournament, but we have to respect his decision.
"About AIm’s arrival, we have known him for several years, we know what he is capable of and the way in which he can make the team play.
"We will continue practice to try and give our best, like always. Thank you, coachi, and good luck!”
k1ck now have the following lineup:
Ricardo "fox" Pacheco
Christopher "mUttt" Fernandes
Ricardo "rmn" Oliveira
Xavi "Aguila" Casals
Ricardo "AIm" Almeida
Vicens "Vis" González (inactive)
