HLTV.org Raising Its Game For 2008

Congratulations and thank you. Because of you readers HLTV.org is one of the top eSports websites in the world. As a reward we're now going to raise our game to meet the new demands of eSports.

First, we've brought Richard "Myers" Millington aboard to head up our content. Myers is a prominent eSports journalist with experience at many top gaming websites and magazines. Myers will be assuming a Community and Business development role here to help us provide you with an even better experience.

Most importantly, we're going to have a great focus on the matches we show. Our coverage is going to delve deeper. You're going to read weekly previews and post-match interviews about our biggest games before any other website. And, if you're busy, we're going to give you a weekly round-up of the most exciting action. Are you interested in knowing the top ten Pistol frags of the week (and where to see them?) - then HLTV.org will duly provide.

So why are we doing this? There are two reasons. First, we don't feel just showing games is enough. We owe you much more. eSports is at a stage where gamers really want to know more about the upcoming matches, and much more detailed, expert, opinion. To be blunt, you deserve these changes dear readers. Second, it's part of our long-term strategy. We know many other organisations are coming close to offer what we do, and we know we need to raise the bar to stay ahead. If not just for the benefit of ourselves, then to increase the competition amongst all eSports organisations to stay great. A rising tide lifts all boats.
