Vox E.: "Hope to get our name out"

After their fourth place finish at MSI Beat it! 2013, we had a quick talk with Vox Eminor's Luke "Havoc" Paton and Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill.

Vox Eminor were the best out of non-European teams at MSI Beat it! 2013, winning all of their matches against the Asians and losing to VeryGames, fnatic and SK Gaming to finish fourth overall, just outside of money.

Luke "Havoc" Paton and the team's in-game leader Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill talk about their goals and experience they gathered in China, and then look ahead to DreamHack Winter which will be the next stop on this long trip from down under.

Good to see the Aussies at least beat the Asian teams to get past group play and learn from their matches against VeryGames, Fnatic, etc. They always seem to just be around when it comes to competitive Counter-Strike (i.e. fzer0 beating 3D at CPL Summer 2002 albeit under interesting terms) so I hope they find a way to attend more international tournaments in the future and be a consistently viable threat. If we want CS: GO to be truly a global game again we need all other regions to be competitive just like the "good old days" (i.e. wNv, Lunatic Hai).

Not sure if 'raped' is the right term. Sure the scoreline wasn't flattering but it also didn't tell the whole story. They also put up a very good fight against SK. mouz, nostalgie and reason are certainly not as good at SK or fnatic either.

even then, score only shows the end result of a round.. vox consistently forced fnatic and sk down to 2vX and made mistakes. give vox some time and experience in the next few months and those mistakes will be reversed.

They seem good but I don't really see them being a top team without proper competition in Australia/ asia (assuming you guys can fight each other with decent pings). What I mean is that there is always competition inside eu so the teams keep learning. and it seems to me that voxe will reach a plateau if they don't fight good oppositioN.

haha big kev. i thought they were a bit unrealistic in summary of their sk bo3. They can't realistically expected to have beaten sk, like they touched on themselves, sk scrim against teams better then Vox every day of the week, vox aren't going to beat them unless a couple of vox have career games. and again, for dreamhack, they will be vsing players and teams that play against nip/AD/VG/sk/fnatic on day to day basis. 2 to 3 of vox have to play career best tournaments in order to place top 3. Not impossible, but if history shows us anything, its incredibly rare.

Would you expect to win ageinst VG? It's better to think "This is something we cant win, but we can try" rather then "WE WILL WIN THIS!" that way when you loose its not really a big dissapointment and they learned alot this tournament so. BUZZ OFF WILL U?

eh? If you have good aim, and semi-good teamskills u have a chance of winning good teams. Only losers go to try. good examples are navi back in 1.6 etc. Recent clan mystick eswc win was unexpected aswell.

Well, maybe because some random guy coming over and saying how everyone with "good aim, and semi-good teamskills" can beat top teams doesn't deserve anything less than to be ridiculed. It is not about competing at all, it is about knowing the limits and being realistic. And your sentence "Not sports or lan for that matter" is super awesome. Suggesting there are only sports, and LAN. And nothing in between. :D So cool. Anyway, enjoy, see ya on next DH where you will beat everyone with your attitude and semi-good teamplay.
