US over iBUYPOWER to face NiP

Universial Soldiers have defeated iBUYPOWER in their Dreamhack Winter opener with 16-9 on de_dust2.

Former Curse squad opened the match with a storm rush straight to mid picking up both Poles on B site, tearing down the defence and getting the first round.

Universial Soldiers replied with a strong eco performance, picking up the initial two frags. iBUYPOWER managed to get the bomb down but that didn't last for too long as Janusz "snax" Pogorzelski secured his third kill of the round, eventually defusing the bomb.

Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham opened the fourth round with an AWP pick on mid which led to his team annihilating all opponents, having the score even with 2-2.

Both teams seemed to be glued to each other, neither one really having a chance to create a bigger score margin. As soon as the team led by Sam "DaZeD" Marine won a round, the Poles were following suit.

Round number eight featured a force buy from Universial Soldiers with both teams having early picks, with the situation leading to a one versus one with both Marine and Pogorzelski, but the latter one launched a perfect grenade from short catwalk, making the game tied once again.

Later in the half we witnessed the Polish team finally slipping away for a bit, mostly thanks to a great teamwork, combining players from catwalk, Counter-Terrorist spawn and B bombsite to shut down the whole middle area which was heavily crowded with iBUYPOWER player.

Last round displayed one more mid push by the side of Americans, but once again it proved to be a tough nut and Universial Soldiers were comfortably sitting on a 10-5 scoreline by the end of the first half.

US proceeded to the second half in the same fashion, opening the half with a pistol round. Their anti eco didn't go as planned as they almost got caught off guard with a surprising p250 buy from their opponents, but ultimately the round went in their favour.

At the times when iBUYPOWER could get the game even, Filip "NEO" Kubski always kept the composure in clutch rounds, getting his team to a magic number of fifteen rounds.

Marine's team managed to take four following rounds but unfortunately for them it simply wasn't enough as the Poles claim the last round and advancing to their encounter against Ninjas in Pyjamas.
