AD to miss ESEA finals; ENCE invited

ESEA has announced that Astana Dragons will not able to attend the global finals due to visa problems.

The Ukrainian team had been invited to attend the season finals after über G33KZ pulled out of the tournament due to not being able to find a sponsor in time for the event.

Just 24 hours later, however, Astana Dragons have informed ESEA’s officials that they will not be able to travel to Dallas after being denied a visa to enter the United States.

To replace AD, ESEA invited ENCE, who finished seventh in the league on a 7-9 record. The Finnish side will have the next few days to confirm that they will be able to attend the event.

In case ENCE cannot make it, then ESEA will consider inviting a fifth North American side, due to time constraints.

The participants' list and the continental seeds look as follows:

1. France VeryGames 1. United States compLexity
2. Poland AGAiN 2. United States iBUYPOWER
3. Sweden LGB eSports 3. United States MouseSpaz
4. Finland ENCE 4. United States Homeless

and the organization don't have the money to send the player to the torunament in the usa. I guess the tickets are around 10k. there is no gain for the organizatiin to do that, unless you win the tournament.

lots of benefits from playing a tournament, they don't need to be listed. They can always just shove the spot on down to the next person anyway if they can't afford it.

the 10k ticket price was only last season because its been held in mid holiday season. if im right even VG didn't take the flight, because only winning in 1st place would make them end up without deficit. now its far from holiday season and the tickets are much cheaper

they do have money, and you guess wrong; it would cost around 4k€. teams aren't trying to make money through prize money, they pay for trips for advertisement. i doubt ence will send the finns, but you're still completely wrong on your assumptions. teams make money through advertising, not through their small cut of prize money.

Can you show me a link? I can understand within the same continent (and I know they do this at times), but sponsoring flights from EU->US and back is very expensive.. It makes no financial sense for ESEA to do so.

Msi china paid 2000 per team... Not much. I would like to see EU teams actually make an attempt and have 4 teams show up for once. Have them come out of pocket before ESEA just comes out of pocket for them. If anything NA teams should get all expenses paid as NA was the sole supporter of ESEA for years, until a couple years ago when esea came back to EU (Europeans didn't want to pay the 7 bucks the first time esea tried going international) If this continues then esea should just do without their global league and NA teams can continue to man up and take the trip over the pond for some NA vs EU action.

ESEA need to only do global finals once a year. EU and NA teams cant all afford to travel to the finals numerous times a year its fucking pointless. Should just have ESEA EU and NA finals seperately for the other seasons. Finals for EU to be played at Dreamhack or something instead instead of this mess every time.

ESEA should do something like cpl. They should have 2 majors tours (1 spring, 1 autumn) those seasons have cheaper tickets. And they should do something like an online league (like they have now) but with more teams and more matches. E.g from 1st feb to 1st april the online league, and then the top four go to US for the finals. Equally 1st september to 1st november etc.

+1, and maybe this is a bad idea, I'm not sure, but if they have 2 finals a year, they could do one in US, one in EU, but maybe that isn't possible as esea is american company and they can only fund for US tournaments?

Do it like MSI BeatIt did. Lower the price pool and pay for the eu teams' travel expences. In the end you got to be certain you're actually gonna get a top 2 finish for the trip to even be worth it.. Organizations wont waste 10k ++. Thought even people at ESEA were aware of this..

next up: ENCE to miss ESEA finals; NiP invited ESEA has announced that ENCE will not be able to attend the global finals due to no flights to Dallas (where the event will be held), being available. The Finnish team had been invited to attend the season finals after Astana Dragons pulled out of the tournament due to not having a valid visa. Just 24 hours later, however, ENCE have informed ESEA’s officials that they will not be able to travel to Dallas. To replace ENCE, ESEA invited NiP, who didn't even participate in this season, but still they believed it was the most viable choice In case NiP cannot make it, then ESEA will invite DB9K (HitmaN will make a comeback, even though he is banned.)

Stop inviting this punching bag team,u are ruining the scene by doing this. Invite some upcoming teams like GP (not saying this only cause im Serbian, but i also think all the new(upcoming) teams should get the chance, like GP got in the previous event) that can do some damage and make the scene better. This is the 2nd time ive noticed that they are invited and just get bashed everytime they try to get up the banana, even with the chickens. Its pointless.
