Sign up for EMS Katowice qualifiers

The Electronic Sports League (ESL) has announced that it is now possible to sign up for for the EMS One Katowice qualifiers

Last month, it was announced that the ESL would be hosting a major CS:GO tournament under the wings of the IEM event in Katowice with $250,000 in cash prizes thanks to a collaboration with Valve.

The tournament, which will take place from March 14-16th, will feature 16 contestants, the top eight finishers from DreamHack Winter plus two invited sides and six teams who will have secured their place through the online qualifiers.

During the next five weeks, there will be regional and national qualifiers being held across Europe. After this, there will also be two European online qualifiers, open to teams from all over the continent, including the ones who were eliminated in the national and regional tournaments.

The 16 teams from all these qualifiers will then battle it out in the online finals, in which they will contest the six spots at EMS One Katowice.

Below you can find the dates for the qualifiers:

10th Jan - 9th Feb France French qualifier 1 slot to online finals
10th Jan - 16th Feb Europe CIS qualifier 2 slots to online finals
10th Jan - 16th Feb Poland Polish qualifier 2 slots to online finals
10th Jan - 9th Feb Europe Nordic qualifier 1 slot to online finals
17th Jan - 16th Feb United Kingdom UK qualifier 1 slot to online finals

22-23rd Feb Europe European cup #2 4 slots to online finals
25-27th Feb Europe Online finals 6 slots to EMS One Katowice

See #19 right below your comment. And to answer your question, I believe the answer is no. We are talking about nationality, not residence.

through asian qualifier maybe ? those dates only refer to the EU scene, there are still 2 slots left: 1 for a USA team and 1 for a asian team. Although vox aren't asian, I guess they could open a exception for them, since I believe they pretty much can take care of the job, as seen on MSI Beat It. So if they are accepted, it's actually a lot easier for vox eminor to qualify to the final event (not online finals) than what EU teams have to go through xD

because fuck you that's why :D #6 pretty much sums it up, but chill. It's not direct slots for the event. It's online qualifiers so odds are that you might not see a polish team at all. As a portuguese, I would like to see K1CK make it, but if I had to bet on it, and taking into account that every team will attend qualifiers (would be stupid not to imo), the spots will go to Vox Eminor (if they are accepted for the asian qualifier, if not, then Tyloo probably), IBP, NaVi, Again, SK, Reason, n! and probably mouz, K1CK, Wizards, CM or some other nordic teams (won't talk about MyM because I haven't followed many of their games so I don't know their current level) will take the last slot. Gamepub had a interesting run on SLTV finals, let's see if they will remain the same.

it's not on these dates. But I can't remember if they are going to invite or to host qualifiers. Either way, I am pretty sure 2 spots are secure for a USA team and a Asian team. I guess they will invite.

didn't we go over this already on some past threads ? There are already 8 teams qualified for the final stage of the event (the 8 DHW quarter finalist, from these, 1/2 are nordic teams [3 swedish and 1 danish] and 2 french teams, 1 from cis and 1 from the USA. Every team (doesn't matter the country, just needs to be from the EU) can sign and play in the european cups. There is no team that is qualified directly through the national qualifiers. As far as I know, these might just be to determine seeds in the brackets (8 teams qualified through the nationals will clash with the 8 teams that come from the european cups probably). There will be 16 teams attending the LAN Finals, so 1/4 are already nordic teams, and probably will end up with 2 or more getting their spot there too so I don't really see the problem. If they are that good the european cup will be a piece of cake for them. Or would you like it to be 16 nordic teams playing at katowice ? Just accept there are more than enough nordic teams, although I don't agree with the CIS getting 2 slots, they will only guarantee 2 CIS teams at the online finals. Nothing more. Understood ? Yeh Yeh I took the bait, but someone had to do it. At least I did it in a polite way.

yup but they can still play on the european cups, so they can play it all the way up. If I have to bet, 4 of these8 european teams that will reach the online finals are from nordic countries.

No, look I'm sorry for trashing you and your scene, but you dont deserve a qualifier. You have no topteams. A mixteam of random Danish people can beat fm!toxic no problem. I would rather had put 2 slots more to the Nordic qualifier and removed the brittish and one of the polish ones, simply because the best teams (aside from Titan) is from Scandinavia.
