DH $10,000 Invitational announced

DreamHack and SteelSeries have announced that they will hold a one-day tournament later this month with four teams and a $10,000 prize purse.

The tournament, called DreamHack SteelSeries CS:GO Invitational, will take place inside DH's TV6 Studio in Stockholm on February 21st, with four of Europe's strongest sides contesting the top prize of $7,500.

Besides DH Winter champions fnatic, this invitational tournament will also feature Ninjas in Pyjamas, über G33KZ and Titan.

From this quartet, the former VeryGames side are the only one who have already attended a major LAN event this year as the French team came in second at the ESEA Finals in Dallas.

Will NiP get back to winning ways?

The DreamHack SteelSeries CS:GO Invitational, which will use a double-elimination, best-of-one format, will also come as a testament to these teams' current shape ahead of EMS One Katowice next month.

"This invitational tournament will be a great follow-up on the DreamHack SteelSeries CS:GO Championship, where Fnatic won their fourth DreamHack title and grabbed $100,000 infront of their home crowd," said Tomas Hermansson, Head of eSports at DreamHack.

"But this is also a great pre-tournament before EMS One Katowice in March that everybody is looking forward to."

uG will give hell of a fight vs Titan, but I don't see them win. if colisation final (the loosing teams) play vs eachother, I am quite sure they will win it, ending 3rd.

BO1? 4-5h tourney... Make it bo3 and single elimination. In double elimination it is obvious that upper bracket winner pwns lower bracket cuz of map advantage.

If you look at dhw and ems Katowice you could say that valve can financially support about 3 major tournaments a year. I thought that dhs would be one but wich one will it be now that they confirmed it itsnt dh. Maybe internationals?? I dunno, not saying its gonna happen but would be really awesome if it would
