Virtus, MYM, hudzG survive in EMS

Virtus.pro, their countrymen MYM and hudzG's team have qualified for EMS One Katowice's European Finals, to be played online on February 25-27th.

Shortly after Clan-Mystik topped webSPELL in the French qualifier, while n!faculty, now known as unu.AiN after getting dropped by the German organization, defeated H2k in the Nordic finals.

The Polish qualifier saw Virtus.pro and Mariusz "Loord" Cybulski's MYM reach the grand final, which will not be played out, and therefore qualify for the European finals later this month.

NEO & co are through to the European finals

They will be joined by George "hudzG" Hoskins' squad, simply known as hudzGs TEAM, who were able to overcome both myXMG and fm.TOXiC 2-0 in the United Kingdom's regional finals.

That means the following five teams, who will be joined by one German and two CIS teams later this week, are now qualified for the European online finals on 25-27th:

France Clan-Mystik Denmark unu.AiN Poland Virtus.pro
Poland MYM United Kingdom hudzGs TEAM

To combine for sixteen total participants, two more European cups will be held next week, each offering four spots for the European finals, which will award six spots for EMS One Katowice.

That is correct. The 6 slots for EMS Katowice will be given to 6 teams that come out on top in the 16-slot European (qualifier) finals. This article is about teams that are already qualified for the 16-slot European qualifier.

Why would you use the word "survive" when neither of VP, MYM or hudzGs team dropped a single map?

because in my mind pre-qualifier rounds like this, that shouldn't even exist, are basically like minefields for good teams. they hope they get out untouched, and have virtually nothing to win. they can only lose.

i would always invite the best teams (based on past performance) to the final qualifier stage to make sure everyone gets that far.

I disagree. You will never get new players at the top if new players don't get a chance to play against the top players. Even if the new players don't win, they get some valuable experience.

so lurppis you basically want the same 5 teams and same players to play over and over and over again ? no need for new stars or future f0rests right?

The verb in the title shouldn't be "survive", it should be just "qualify" -_- They relatively qualified with ease
