RattlesnK returns in fm-eSports

Former mousesports captain Sam "RattlesnK" Gawn has returned to activity in fm-eSports' new team.

The British AWPer, who captained the mouz squad who placed 3rd-4th at DreamHack Winter 2012, had been out of action since the disbandment of his Anexis team in July, even though he was seen representing the UK in the European Championship.

Gawn has now linked up with fm-eSports, who had been seen playing as a mix team in ESEA Intermediate after finishing 5th-8th at the ESWC finals in Paris.

From the previous roster, only Neil "nEILZiNHo" Finlay remains as Som "s0m" Haddow, Søren "socN" Falke, Tom "vertiGo" Rockliffe and Brandon "weber" Weber have all been released.

fm-eSports have also re-signed Reece "Puls3" Marrs and Phil "Whindanski" Nicholas, two players who have represented the organisation in the past, while bringing in former n!faculty member Alexander "rdl" Redl.

"Here we are at the start of 2014 and unfortunately after our last event in December we were forced to take a bit of a break over Christmas and New Year and try and fix some issues within our lineup," Finlay told fm-eSports' website.

"We have been on the look out for a top sniper after our outing at ESWC and I myself have been looking for someone to take over the role as in-game leader to try and push us to the next level.

"We are delighted to bring in one of the best in-game leaders and AWPers from CS:S and also from CS:GO – Sam “RattlesnK” Gawn to fulfill both of these roles.

"Sam brings bags of experience to the team as well as countless tactics and most importantly, organisation – something that all UK teams have lacked since his former team Anexis disbanded.

"He was always one of the best awpers around and I am 100% certain he will be up at the top again this year with the amount of hours we shall be committing to the game both individually and as a team.

"We will also be bringing in Alex “rdl” Redl - whom I played with in CS:S for a long time and we are all delighted to have him in the team. We also welcome back Phil “Whindanski” Nicholas and Reece “Puls3″ Marrs, who we all believe has the potential to become one of the players to watch in 2014 with his aiming ability and having the experience of rdl and RattlesnK can only push him towards that goal faster."

fm-eSports have already started practicing for Copenhagen Games, which will take place from April 16th to 20th, with €26,000 up for grabs in the CS:GO tournament.

The new fm-eSports team looks as follows:

Could be Top 10 world if they work at it. For all my disagreements with Sam as a person, as a counter strike player he's possibly one of the most consistent and highest potential players in the UK: Practically every team he's been on has at least done SOMETHING internationally. The issue is his attitude is always his biggest issue, accumulating in his loss of form while in Anexis, due to a mixture of saying he didn't actually like the game, and the usual UK excuse of never practicing. The fact that he seems to piss everyone he plays with off doesn't help either. We saw a glimpse of what he was capable of at Dreamhack 2012, one of the few players who'd quickly been able to use the new AWP. If he can fight his demons, then any team he leads could easily become top 10.

Predicting Rattlerage to start kicking players and predicting fmtoxic management to show no loyalty to longstanding members like neil and whindanski. I see this going like fnatic years ago. They bring in dsn as a leader, a month later he kicks everyone and the management side with him. No doubt he built a strong team but the players all got screwed.

I know there's a lot that matters(skill, experience, tension so forth and so on) but why is Puls3 there instead of weber? I haven't watched FM Toxic a lot lately and I don't know much about Puls3, but I'm curious=)

I have never seen anyone rage like rattlesnk does. I would have punched him several times in the face, if he spoke to me like he speaks to his teammates. That is not a leader! A leader is someone who brings out the best in his players, knowing it takes different approaches since people are different. I think you are an arrogant prick, and I hope you will fail bigtime :D

See if they stick with the same Org/Roster for 2 or 3 months then I'll make my mind up. I'm really not a big fan of the guy but: RattleSNK has obviously shown in the past he has a lot to offer when he keeps his cool, if his attitude towards his own team mates has improved I honestly think he could be a respectable figure in present day UK CS.

He really shouodnt rage so much, this is an improvement from not playing at all, and if he loses well then hes right back where he was a month ago. This is why leaders like carn reign supreme, keeps his players calm, and himself even calmer.

I remember hearing at a LAN a while ago he fetched a book full of strats as well as stuff he was jotting down, people were laughing about it but it's clear the guy is willing to try anything to improve himself when it comes to developing strats and working on his own individual skill. For someone to have that much commitment it's always seemed rather peculiar to me that he hasn't worked on other aspects of himself as a professional player. I'm not trying to look down on the guy since I've done fuck all professionally on CS, but it really is confusing why the same stories of him raging keep occurring. Guess is shows how important social and emotional intelligence are in the grand scheme of things, especially as a strat caller.

As for Strat callers like Carn, Gob B and especially Ave, I almost feel like it's unfair to compare people trying to still rise as a top player in the scene to them since they're really rare, Ave to this day is still my favourite Strat caller by far (although I do admire how well Carn enabled his teams).

Neil and Whindanski have never really achieved anything in cs and are unlikely to imo, very average. Pulse has been hyped as the next great UK player for about 8 years and still hasn't stuck to one line-up for more than a few months and never really won anything. RDL failed with his own countrymen so i assume this is a last resort for him. RattlesnK was one of the absolute best css players when on form, and supposedly decent at 1.6 too. Would expect him to be pretty good at GO if he puts the hours in. He's wasted in this line-up and he's a twat anyway. Look forward to them coming 2nd at the next i-series then the team folding.
