NiP beat LDLC; top Group B

Ninjas in Pyjamas are through to the playoffs at EMS One Katowice following a 16-7 win over LDLC.com.

NiP, who started off on the CT side, came out the brighter in this match and took an early lead thanks to an impressive four-kill round from Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund, who has been in dominant form this event.

LDLC.com then responded and levelled the game on one round, only to see NiP get back into it right after. Rounds kept going back and forth in the game, and when the scoreboard showed 5-4 in favour of the Swedish team, a great moment ocurred: Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez picked up two kills early on and, after being left alone against three opponents, disposed of the last three NiP men to win the round.

The French side were really giving NiP a run for their money, but with Hovik "KQLY" Tovmassian having an off day, that was really as far as they went, as the Swedes dominated proceedings during the latter stages of the first half and were up 10-5 when they switched to the Terrorist side.

In the second halff, NiP added three more rounds to their tab following a straight A rush. LDLC were still able to reduce the deficit by two rounds, but it was too little, too late, as the Swedes ran out 16-7 winners and booked a place in the playoffs.
