Forfeits In NationsCup XI

The results of three matches in ClanBase NationsCup XI has been changed due to violation of the rule that forbids silent run.

Sweden's win against the Netherlands has been turned into a forfeit loss due to several players used silent run. This means that Sweden is loosing the match with 15-0.

In the match between Romania and Switzerland, the Romanian player ONY and the Swiss player KinGpiN violated the same rule as the Swedish players. Therefore, both Romania and Switzerland receive a forfeit loss.

Finally, MONKE from United Kingdom and UNKIND1 from Serbia were found guilty in the use of silent run. Both nations receive a forfeit loss.

As we speak, the ClanBase admins have set their eyes at the match between Slovakia and Greece. The Greek team has accused Slovakia of using silent run but so far the admins haven't found anything.

With these forfeits, ClanBase shows that they will under no circumstances allow silent run. We can only hope that the participating nations will respect the rules in the upcoming matches - it's a shame that this many matches are forfeited.

Look at it the other way; It's forbidden therefore nobody can use it, so everybody accepts the consequences it they DO use it! My opinion: it's part of the game and everybody can use it so why would you make such a rule.. =)

look at it the other way, in cs you can run or walk, not both at the same time, we had great games before they used it, no?

In my opinion it's good. And it's not fair play from the player who use silent . If you have a bad headset you can't hear the opponent comming. I hope it will be the rules of futur online cup and on lan .

But everyone is able to do it so it isn´t really unfair. It´s not like a flashbug or something like that, it´s just part of the movement.

But you can´t do anything against the flashbug, you can´t look away, you get flashed everywhere around the map. But if it annoys you that you can´t hear the enemy cause of silent walk you can do it by your own every time you want to.

Common it allowed on almost every tourney and the two wich don´t allow it (WCG, CB Nc) really suck. You can´t forbid it, as almost every top clan does it in PCW, FW or other tourneys. It´s just a routine. You can´t just say : Don´t do it! I think it should be allowed as long as it´s not binded on the scroll and depends at least some skill.

What I can't understand is why after so many years of cs 1.6 this rules appears now. I understand that competitions must prevent and pusnish bug abuses, like flashbugs, but is silent run a bug? I believe it's a part of the game, like bunny jumping.

Its not easy to go from doing the silent run all the time to not doing it at all. I am positive that people who are saying that the rule is good are ones who do not silent walk all the time, which is not supposed to mean that they are lesser skilled but just that they dont know how tough it is to stop doing it if you do it all the time. All i say is make ALL rules standard, one way or the other.

They have had this rule for a long time right? Why can't the teams understand they can't fucking use it? Is it really THAT hard?

using it so often in other competitions it is instinctively easy to use it when is forbidden, but it is to much cu get a forfeit because of one mistake!

First of all, no, it's like saying that when you come from Soccer you shoot to the ball in Handball. Second of all, no again, it's not too much to get a forfeit for one mistake, it could have decided the whole match, maybe it couldn't. Period is that they gotta stick to the rules, and the rules is that, if they break the rules, its not a rematch, its a forfeit or exclusion. (Denmark team are VERY used to using silent-run but you don't see them using it versus Spain did'ya?)

Kid, you way out of the track with the soccer/handball thing. Second of all, U strongly believe that those guys who duck-jumped were deliberate acting? This game is not chess, many action are fast enough not to allow a complete control over it, especially when it's about something that they use often, without consequences. I agree with you that you should stick to the rule, but then again this rule is stupid! I know you are only 15'years old, but try not to fight over with everybody for anything, OK?

If the rule is stupid and they can't help it if they do it then why say yes to join the competition anyways? That's not stupid, that's retarded.

Probably the only thing that I agree with you. Except the handball thing which is pretty damn stupid. Apart of that, you could just said "rules are rules. And meant to be applied for everyone with no exception".

First of all, i was just trying to make a point, your the one being stupid. Second, i have already said that rules are rules, but i have to explain why and stuff since you people don't seem to get it.

How sad is this, why making duckjumping illegal?? Nowadays, it's a part of the game and just an advantage like there are so many... If both teams use it, why nagging about it?

The rule is fair. The way they punish the players is unfair. In many cases the Players were using silent run in their Spawn only but yet again the suffered a forfeit loss. If you are used to it, it makes you wanna do it and it, Really, wont harm anyone using it in your Spawn. :S

silly rule. how can CB expect these teams to take this tourney seriously if it has a crucial rule thats different from every other league these players play in? this rule has fucked up the entire tournament, and I'm sure a lot of people aren't gonna take this competition seriosuly at all anymore. edit: Well i guess it is still pretty early in the tournament to be all fucked up yet, but it would be nice to see these players play the game that they know and not have to take in some silly rule into the way they play.
