NiP 2-1 over coL; proceed to semis

NiP are through to semi-finals after a three-map battle against compLexity (12-16 de_dust2, 16-2 de_nuke, 16-11 de_train).

Starting off on de_dust2 it was compLexity as Terrorists who took NiP by a complete surprise and got off to an unexpected start with Braxton "swag" Pierce's three-kill pistol round, followed by a double-awp strategy in the first gunround.
A slow mid push in the anti-eco afterwards was met with a crossfire defense, it was Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund and Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson combining for four kills and lowering the deficit to 1-4. In spite of Alesund's attempts NiP wasn't able to win any of the following five rounds, out of which only one ended up in a close situation.
NiP tried to switch things up a little bit with a double-awp setup of their own and compLexity ran into an A trap, which made the scoreline 9-2. For two more rounds it was compLexity on a great offense once again for 11-2 as Johansson wasn't able to defuse against Sean "sgares" Gares' AWP.

swag was an absolute beast on de_dust2

He made up for it only a after a little while thanks to a long combination with Richard "Xizt" Landström for 11-4 alongside a successful eco coming from Adam "friberg" Friberg and his last second defuse.

At that point Pierce was at a 22-7 score, but he went quiet for a little while in the beginning of their Counter-Terrorists side. Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg and Alesund were the stars of the second pistol, which lowered their deficit to only four rounds.

Lindberg continues with a good performance in the several following rounds until compLexity started pushing out from upper dark and short and with Gares' two kills on A while being all by himself, NiP found themselves five rounds behind.

That was when they seemed to get back on track, destroying another attempt at an unexpected push from the CTs, but Pierce shows his name once again with the following crazy one-versus-four against two low-hp Ninjas while retaking the B bombsite.

Even though NiP tried to get back from that round, it only took compLexity three attempts to close the map at 16-12.

Switching over to de_nuke, the storyline was completely turned around. With the pistol round going the Swedes' way thanks to an outside lower rush and a couple of saved scary ecos, NiP were up 6-0.

A chance offered itself once again when Martin "hiko" Spencer dealt an immense amount of damage on ramp in a three-versus-three, but NiP managed to come back from that and defended the lower plant successfully as Friberg won a one-versus-one.

Finally the Americans got their first round after yet another three-versus-three, but it was too little too late, because NiP just kept on racking up more rounds for an eleven-round lead before switching sides.

Not even the second pistol round ramp strategy worked out for Gares and company, which ended up being a death sentence and de_nuke was over at 16-2.

de_train started off with compLexity's Jordan "n0thing" Gilberg picking off two Swedes on lower, which allowed his team get into the bombsite and win the first round.

The usual eco round worked out better than expected for NiP's Landström, who took three people out of the ecquation before winning a one-versus-one for a tie at 1-1.

NiP will be up against dignitas in the semis

compLexity were able to forcebuy afterwards thanks to a plant, and that alongside an upper push seemed to pay off, but it was Landström yet again with four kills and this time a one-versus-two.

Another upper attack by the American side worked out well and with an eco thrown in, they were back in the one-round lead. That was until Alesund ended up in a one-versus-two in the following round, killed one of the opponents and defused against Pierce without a kit.

Then it was all NiP's game until they were 9-3 in the lead, when Sgares ended up in a number of unsuccessful one-versus-three attempts. compLexity managed to get back on track though, with Pierce getting six kills in the three rounds and the halftime score read 9-6 in favor of the Swedes.

A fast upper attack saw Lindberg taking two quick kills, which rocketed NiP to a six-round lead. Only one round in the following four was defended by the Americans though, who found themselves only two rounds away from getting dropped out of the tournament.

Another upper attack was completely demolished by the Counter-Terrorists this time around, but that was almost the end of the story as the next round was taken under the wings of NiP, who only needed three more despite Alesund's good attempt at a one-versus-three.

You're very wrong. Swag's aim isn't near someone like AZK's or anger's or n0thing's. It's his in game sense that does it for him. Everyone in NA knows this. Also he has been playing at LAN for the better part of a decade now. Has been pro more of his life than any other player.

Did you saw his 1x4 vs NiP? He did that not because of his game sense or because they were all below 50 hp, he did that because he out aimed four guys in a plant with ease Every time i watched him play, he wins duels against players who have more experience than him. Game sense doesn't help that much in that factor

the reason why he won that 1v4 is because he played it smart, not because of aim. he baited them out with smart play --> game sense. about experience...he has more than u think probably, been playing on the best teams for quite a few years. he doesnt have many international experience but thats the problem for many americans except for semphis, nothing, sgares and a few more

Yeah he played that out smart, but then again he out aimed four NiP players in B site when they all looked window and could just one clicked him if he had average aim You really don't need to talk about his experience as a player since I know more about him regarding CS or whole NA scene than any other person on this site probably

just dont agree that this was out aiming. he was constantly trying show-shoot (clipping or whatever this is called). and that smart clipping won the 1v3 imo. ofc in the end u always need to hit the shots to win the round but none of the 3 frags was super awesome, the last one was nice though

muricans so bad in european tournaments. 2 teams that can win everything on home soil can't gather one win in playoffs. infact, one died in group stage. PS: gz with the new titles. i've send "X sent Y packing" over 300 times i think.

LoL that's like saying french cs is terrible because they had 3 teams, 2 of which died in group stage, and the other got murdered in first playoff match. That's also like saying eastern EU CS is terrible... which it kinda is.

swedish teams are good on regular bases. every now and then dk teams are awesome and after that they do shit. at some point, Dignitas (CPH W. back then) was considered to be top2-3 and the first team with real chances to win against nip on lan. Two weeks later players started to leave because ~retire~. Few months later, almost the same lineup.

eastern EU CS is terrible indeed. France has only titans with a stable lineup and they are not doing great. they had a good run while others were saving themselves for DH W. France has some great players except those in Titans, but Clan Mystic, for example, won ESWC and in the next months changed lineup 3 or 4 times.

that is not quite so. they have some very good players, but only one team at the moment; and that team is not dominating as it should. but they are on top no doubt, as a whole, with swe, dk, russia and ukraine (soon russia too:D).

The better team won, nicely done NiP. If coL had any other matchup they probably move on.

BO1. Play a BO3 and i think you'd see them win 2/3. Same reason Titan lost to HellRaisers.

Right, let's be more ignorant. Let me know when you get on any of their level, let alone go to a LAN and do well against NiP without any practice against GOOD teams. Peasant.

those kind of "arguments" are the worst, saying someone is bad in anyway and trying to counter it by saying "do it better" just shows how simple minded people are justin bieber is a shitty musician, now i guess i have to make better music than him? or league of legends logic (aka the higher number logic) i have to sell more copies than him?

And his statement about lumping all Americans together as liking McDonalds or being fat is completely reasonable. Sounds fair.

POV streams are amazing to watch. I enjoyed watching the whole game on Col perspective and living on their happiness, frustration, panic and sadness. You got also insight their game plan and understood the match better. Commentators are okey, but nothing beats listening to players teamspeak. Shame that Col is out since cant watch any more POV demos like that. Maybe now its the time to learn new language?

or to ask a finish team to do well soon :D while 1.6 finish style of play was my favorite. they were so aggressive all the time, even the newcomers as good teams didn't had a problem to haunt sk on dust2.

Really well played from both teams. NiP will beat dignitas in semi and will face virtus.pro in final but i don't think they gonna win, they are just too many unbalance between attack and defense in important moments, they split and push perfectly, but they become just too much confident when they should just stop and wait opponent they face..

In typical American team style they give you a good map win to give you hope, and then fall on their face in the next 2 maps.

if we see nuke, fiffla had +3 K/D diff, not so important because GTR and f0rest together they had +23. But fiff stepped up in crucial moments for NiP, in train when they start to lose control of the map. For example fiffla in train has +11 K/D diff, mostly for his team...
