LGB to EMS One semis over fnatic

LGB have defeated fnatic 2-1 (11-16 de_inferno, 16-12 de_mirage, 16-14 de_train) at EMS One Katowice to advance to the semi-finals later today.

Markus "pronax" Wallsten's two entry kills got fnatic into B on de_inferno, and a double from Andreas "schneider" Lindberg won them the opening pistol to go up 3-0 versus LGB.

Dennis "dennis" Edman's triple with an M4A1-S got LGB on the board, and a full lock down in B got LGB their second round, before Wallsten's bombsite B fake gave fnatic back control.

fnatic then successfully took out A to go up 5-2, and forcing LGB to save. Another triple kill round by Edman, this time with an AWP, got LGB round three and then forced fnatic on two save rounds.

A one-on-one win in bombsite B by Simon "twist" Eliasson tied the game at six, and Olof "olofm" Kajbjer's triple kill in A gave LGB a brief lead. Last two rounds were traded, with Lindberg winning an incredible one-on-five situation.

Patrik "cArn" Sättermon's side won the second pistol round as well, going up 10-8. LGB tied the game quickly by winning the next two, but fnatic's defense then locked up the map for the next four rounds.

schneider won an amazing one-on-five on de_inferno

LGB won one more close round to give them a glimmer of hope, but ultimately fnatic were simply too strong on de_inferno, and prevailed with a score of 16-11 to gain a 1-0 lead in the series.

The underdogs won their first pistol round to begin de_mirage as terrorists. Up 3-0, fnatic won a key one-on-one with the last LGB member too far to kill the defuser, giving fnatic their first round.

Despite an early lead, LGB couldn't break down fnatic's defense. They only won one more round before fnatic tied the game at four, and the next four rounds were traded as well to get to 6-6.

From there on out fnatic's defense overpowered any attacks LGB could muster, as they secured a convincing 9-6 lead, especially impressive considering their early 0-3 deficit.

LGB won the second pistol round as well, and one save from fnatic got them within one. Jesper "jw" Wecksell's triple won them the next round though, as Isak "cype" Rydman couldn't get the defuse on time.

cArn wasn't able to help his team top LGB at EMS One

Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg and Lindberg combined for five, forcing LGB on a save to go up 12-8. An aggressive push by Eliasson got him two kills, and Rydman finished the round in B.

Kajbjer and Freddy "KRiMZ" Johansson split the pot next, and after a save they were within one. Eliasson's double tied the game at twelve, and a solid retake of A by Rydman and Edman gave LGB a sudden 13-12 lead.

A triple kill by Johansson gave them fourteen rounds, and a double by Kajbjer helped give LGB map point, which they used right after to tie the series at 1-1 with a 16-12 win on de_mirage.

LGB won their terrorist pistol to start off the deciding map de_train. After saving twice, fnatic won round four thanks to five kills from Robin "flusha" Rönnquist and Lindberg.

Early aggression cost fnatic round five, but after being forced to save once, they went on a winning streak of five rounds, featuring a mow down of alley by Lundberg and Wecksell, and another double kill round by the young AWPer.

LGB then rushed outside and took out fnatic easily. Two kills from Eliasson on the following round as LGB faked the inner site tied the game at seven, only for Rönnquist's double to give fnatic an 8-7 lead.

LGB's upset win put them through to semi-finals versus Virtus.pro

fnatic stayed alive thanks to winning their terrorist pistol round, but a risk in deciding not to peek the defuser by Wallsten cost them on the second LGB save, as the underdogs made it 8-10.

The black and orange team were able to pick LGB apart on the next round though, and broke their money system. Down 8-12, Johansson and Kajbjer made it a three round game, and a triple by Eliasson got them within to.

A crucial one-on-one straight defuse by Edman fooled Lindberg to cut the deficit to one, but then a triple by Wecklsell followed by a one-on-one win by Lindberg once again forced LGB to save, giving fnatic a 14-11 lead.

Now with their backs against the wall, LGB went to work. A flawless round started it off, and two kills by both Johansson and Edman in the inner site forced fnatic to save and tied the game.

At 14-14 on the deciding map, a quad kill by Rönnquist wasn't enough as LGB won a round in inner, and a triple by Rydman finally put the match away with a 16-14 win on de_train, 2-1 overall.

you can't blame their loss on schneider . he was playing very well, except for that 1 moment pretty much. better blame the other fnatic players for not getting more flags.

More bootcamping, more effort, better preparation of tactics. At least 10x more dedication and motivation, which leads to a lot of upsets from the top10 teams rather than a run over by the top3 teams. It's all because of the reputation of the event, being CS's biggest event. It's also about the massive prize pool.

I would say they have more chances than fnatic lol their crazy aim is more likely to carry them vs VP than fnatic's tactical supremacy, since VP has a mix of both.

LGB destroyed Na'Vi, battered coL, just beat fnatic in a BO3 and beat virtus online in their last match. i think they have every chance against them and will probably win. They're all 5 insanely skilled players, possibly the most skill balanced team around at the moment, where every player can carry on any map.

LGB is such an even team in terms of fragging. Must be assuring for all to know that each member can put in kills consistently.

Fnatic did the same strat almost all the time on t side on de_train. They sent devilwalk to alley to lurk and work towards B. I know that pronax likes playing standart and then execute accordingly but if your standard fails over and over again just use one from ur stratbook. As for LGB, I didn't like their defense on A but they managed to close the game up. Gratz to LGB, they deserved it for sure

outstanding performance by schneider, and outstanding performance by every single lgb member, especially krimz on train. devilwalk really needs to step up his game tho, its not like this has been the first time hes being so bad....

basically 3 madfraggers on both teams (olofmeister, dennis, twist) vs (flusha, jw, schneider). But when you see Krimz (as igl) and cype were far better than devilwalk and pronax, yh that is hard to come over for fnatic. Two man with such less firepower is maybe not good enough, obv not cut pronax as igl, but maybe they can replace devilwalk (no h8) with some back-up player who's aim/in game skills are better.
