EMS One contest winners

We had a total of five contests based on the year's first major tournament which Virtus.pro won over NiP. In addition to our ever present Dreamteam game, we also asked our users to guess the winners, the top fragger and the top awper, as well as compete in betting with playmoney, so let's see the results.

EMS One Katowice 2014 Dreamteam

With over 4,500 teams in our fantasy game, we had more players than ever before during the CS:GO era and the battle for the top 5 was down to the very last match.

Our Polish user "s1sco" triumphed eventually after his faith in comrades from Virtus.pro paid off, and he earned himself a brand new set of SteelSeries equipment including the SteelSeries 9H headset, SteelSeries Apex keyboard and SteelSeries Rival mouse.

The rest of the top five was even closer as only a small change in player roles could have brought someone an extra prize. Here is the final placement:

Guess the winner of EMS One Katowice

The first of our guessing contests drew over 3,800 participants who tried to predict who will win the tournament, and a staggering 41% decided to go with Titan. The Frenchmen's early elimination in the group stage also eliminated a large portion of the guesses, but the next two teams on the list still had a chance until the very end.

Eventually it turned out that 169 users correctly predicted that Virtus.pro would defeat NiP in the final, leaving it up to a random draw to see who would win the AWP Asiimov and SteelSeries QcK CS:GO, and that ended up being "MuziK" from United Kingdom.

Guess the top fragger

Our second guessing contest had the most interesting outcome, as we promised that if someone predicts both the player and exactly how many kills he would have, they would win the prize automatically. And that is exactly what happened as "notStorM" said "pasha with 215 kills", getting both things right and winning these great prizes:

Guess the top awper

In general the awpers in Katowice severly underperformed compared to previous events, as Jarosław "pasha" Jarząbkowski topped the chart with only 35 awp kills, followed by Jesper "JW" Wecksell's 33 and Kenny "kennyS" Schrubs' 31.

As not many people expected the top awper would have so few kills, it is no surprise that none of the 176 users that picked the Pole got the number right. A random draw eventually awarded the following user with the ROCCAT keyboard, eSportsventure bonus and an AWP Redline:
